I dunno, i read the sticky pertaining to the 5 speed swap. It musta slipped my eyes.

So if I use a Prelude mount (which i have, all i have to do is extend it 3/8" to make it that much lower? What about where the studs are? the lude only has 2 studs, and the one towards the firewall dosent line up(i dont think, from eyeballing it). unless i have to tap it.

I am reading the same stickys again right after this post

Youll have to tap the F trans to use the H mount. Seriously tho, do it right.

Don't put any spacers on the tranny side, just the timing side of the engine.

and here's why that mount would work, since no one went into detail:

IF your transmission(the manual one) is an h2a5, which is a ex transmission, THEN AND ONLY THEN will esp.net poly-mount will work

they also work w/h22 trannies as well

if your putting in a h2u5, which is a dx/lx version, then IT WILL NOT WORK

if you end up with the latter, then your only alternative is the cut the auto bracket off and weld on the manual bracket

........well until i figure out some measurements, then we non-ex and h22 trannies will join in on the poly-fun

tapping the tranny is NOT an option, to use that transmission you are 100% required to cut and weld a new engine bay bracket, details listed in the sticky

Well, i know your sure, so im not gonna ask are you sure. lol

but i put the prelude mount bracket on to check what lines up. and standing from the tranny side of the car, the one stud on the left went into the hole, and the stud on the right didnt, but the whole on the bracket lined up to a hole on the tranny. Like there is a whole there already not a circle, but a whole. So i was like i gotta drill n tap, so i went out a bought the stuff i needed(had to buy a whole tapping kit bc they didnt have individual ones), and now im here.

so my questio now is, what is that hole for?

any possible way to get a picture of the top of your tranny? youre confusing me lol. or whats the tranny code on the sticker?

LX trannies do not have the blank holes that line up with the prelude mount... if the mount was set onto the transmission straight, one bolt will line up, and the other two will be sitting overtop of nothing... literally nothing, just a curved side of the transmission casing... you can put it on crooked so 2 studs line up, but thats WAY off..

like m-tec said, H2A5 trannies as well as all 5g accord and all 4g+ lude transmissions have 5 stud holes on top of the transmission. only 3 are used at a time, but having all 5 gives you the option of using either a CB7 tranny mount or a prelude tranny mount. this is the case where you would drill and tap the transmission, it has extra provisions for the studs in different locations.

if you have an H2U5 and a cb7 tranny mount, you will be required to cut and weld a new bracket to the engine bay, because it is VERY far off, there was a significant difference between the brackets in automatic and 5spd CB's... the prelude mount is CLOSE, enough to get it to squeeze in... otherwise its WAY off

Yes i do beleive the tranny is a h2u5, i will check again tomorrow, and take pics for you. But thats y i am comfused. It looks like i should be able to tap it and would work, but the info here contradicts it, so my head is like . If you could check back tomorrow during work, i will have pictures posted of the top of my tranny, and with the lude munt plate on it. I cant noe bc im not at my dads warehouse

I think my h2u5 trans has all 5 stud holes in it. Not 100% though, its out of a 93 EX.

I can't pull up my imagestation account at work but the pics in my obx thread may show the holes (Unfortunatly, those are also blocked at work for me so I can't look)

look at the pics Maybe honda started using the different cases at some point, or I'm just wrong on the code....

i may be wrong on the code as well, i was basing it on what m-tec said above, which may have been backwards...

the only CB7 transmission to include all 5 holes, that i know of, is from the 92-93 EX F22A6.

Yeah, and H2U5 is the code for the EX tranny. I have a H2A5 in my 93 LX and it does not have the extra stud provisions. Looks like you were describing the tranny wrong to us. Drill and tap away.
