    *Y dosent anyone swap a H22 Type S*

sup people, i seen people here swap h22, f20b, f22b.
    But i never seen a CB7 with a 220Hp H22 Type S, why is it?
Is it because the price is about $4,000 bucks, or what?

I think it might be that extra $100/horsepower for 20, but I could be wrong.

The reason i've been asking around so much is because i really, really want to give civic's, integra, gti's a run for there money. i mean i want to have an accord that really moves! and i'm asking around because i just want to know wich motor to spend my money on!

Pay extra money for 20hp when you can extract that with a normal H22A. Plus it just has higher compression and some minor headwork if I remember basically thats it. The rest is similar. Oh yea I think the IM is different too but I dunno. I know the Euro R one is.

for the price difference, you can EASILY get more than +20hp out of a regular jdm h22a.

i only have one because i ended up with one, i never would have bought one outright.

Well that F20B is better for close qurter, cornering and shit. If you plan to run hard on the highway you want that H22A but if you wanna road race, I would go with the F20B due to the higher rev capability

I would use the F20B for autocrossing because of its revvy nature. But for everyday driving where tq plays a roll instead of winding up into the powerband like an f20b I can just leave it in 5th and zoom my ass around on the highways.

well being that you live in washingtons hghts i would go with the h22. the torque owns. the f20b likes others say is a wonderful motor but it dont have the tq that u will need around the city. h22 by far

I need to do alot of research. but its kool i'm gonna head out tomorrow for a few things. this guy i know is selling me a h22 for $500 dollars. he crashed his prelude the engine is so called good. and he's getting a 99 Civic si. so he say's he has no need for the h22!

                        What ya think?

I'd say more people have regular H22's because
                          -easier to find
                          -less expensive
                          -type S is OBDII

                          ...adjust accordingly

cost less to get a jdm h22a and slap some type s pistons in :P

Pay $2000 for a normal JDM H22, and put $2000 into headwork, cams, and a good header... and you'll make more than 220hp at the crank. Or put $4000 into a buildup and turbo kit for the F22 and you'll probably make even more!

The type S DOES have some better materials, however. Supposedly, the parts are just higher quality.

The F20B is NOT any better for racing. It's not any better than the H22 for road racing. It was made so Honda could compete in a 2.0L class. If they could've used the H22, they would have. The powerband is higher and more narrow than the H22. That doesn't make it better in any way. It's different, and it's certainly not a bad motor, but it's not superior.
