    auto to manual question

from going auto to manual, i have a few questions about parts i need to buy.

#1) i have an f22a4 motor, gonna be using an f22a1 tranny, so i know i need to weld the mount on, so the mount has to be a 94 accord manual tranny mount. BUT, i dont have the tools capable of welding, so is there anyway that i can have it welded on while leaving the old tranny in and then when i pull it out the new mount is already in

    #2) i was told i need a 30amp relay, but can i use a 40amp relay instead?

#3) i was also told that for the clutch hard lines, i can replace all the hard lines with 1 single SS braided line. what size should it be 3/8? and how does it get hooked up? does it need to be threaded in?

if anyone knows what im trying to ask please inform me on these questions i have, im doin the swap this week, so i need to know asap!

the 5th gen tranny mount should slip right into where the 4th gen auto mount sat no modding needed. just the driver side mount needs changed out with a 5th gen 5spd one as well i think.

theres no stud holes on an f22a1 tranny that would let it accept a 5th gen tranny mount. which means you need to get a regular 90-93 tranny mount (an actual one, autozone ones dont include both pieces) AS WELL as the chassis-side bracket thats welded to the side of the engine bay. youd need to get that from the dealer and its special order, $26 you can search this site for the part number...

you pull the tranny out, cut off the old bracket and weld the new one on, and reinstall the new 5spd tranny.. no other way around it, you cant do it while the car is still driving.

yes, a 40amp is fine. its rated higher, meaning it can handle more current before burning out...

yes you can use a long SS clutch line instead of the hard one, and youd need to thread each end into one of the master and slave cylinder, so whatever size they are. might as well buy new cylinders, so you can use them to see what size fittings to use... make sure you get a long enough line, i remember reading somewhere that they used 8 feet.

well i just finished doing my auto to manual swap last weekend and i am using a f22a1 tranny since our gonna use that tranny your gonna have to first grind the old bracket so you can see the weld spots then get a drill and drill through the weld spots so you can remove it easier theres like like 8 spots on the bracket i recommend that you have somone who already has a 5speed helping you out since when you took off the old bracket you can measure the distance of how far your gonna weld the new bracket on thats how i did and it came out perfect
