    90% Finished Swap..Question (Photos!)

Ok well I've told every one about my vtec oil pressure switch situation. Well Here's a photo of my problem. lol

It seems theres a bolt in place of where the switch is suppose to be.

Now Here are some pics of the swap it self. Tell me what ya think!

bingo. its an OBD2 motor. mine didnt come with one either (came with the same bolt plug.) neither did some B/D-series apparently. which would explain why my P28 runs the motor fine. youre running a P13 i bet? it expects to see it, where the OBD2 computer or a P28 would not have. screw one in and ull be good.

swap looks really nice and clean, good job man.

thats really just my theory... maybe one of the other h22 dudes running a p28 can disconnect the pressure switch and see if they get a CEL.

as far as being able to tell its an obd2 motor, seeing how clean it was was what made me first start to think, then i saw the map sensor on the throttle body.

                who put the motor in?

not once installed, as you use the OBD1 wiring...

yeah it is a really clean motor...I thought so too. Yeah I do think it is obd1 though...cause of the wiring. HMO said they were sending me a JDM H22 from a 93 prelude. I got a shop that I always go to put it in for me.

This is where I got that JDM motors don't come with oil pressure switches...the guy could be wrong.

oh my bad, i thought the vtec wiring on obd2 was cocked a little more down than obd1.

btw, how can you tell its obd2?

that thread is about D-series motors... every OBD1 JDM h22 ive seen has always had the pressure switch. im not quite sure what the discriminating factor is between motors that had it and motors that didnt...

and its hard to tell exactly what motor you have, as the fuel rail/injectors/distributor you have are all OBD1, but its an OBD2 throttle body. or maybe some OBD1 motors came with the map sensor on the throttle body, but i dont think so, but its possible. look at the front of your motor, above the exhaust manifold... there should be 3 circles stamped onto the head. the center one should have something like 9|3 in the circle. thats the production year... check it and let me know what it says...

i dont have much experience chipping ECUs, but they mention disabling the pressure switch in the P28 ROM. perhaps the map im running has it disabled, im not sure. i just know its not hooked up, and i dont get a CEL.

you have 2 methods of fixing this: get the pressure switch, or get a chipped P28 with the switch disabled. i guess either would work, but choosing which one is up to you...

I just checked at it says 95...so i guess they lied....or decided on another engine before they shipped out? Yeah...I'm thinking of going with the p28 so solve the problem hopefully.
