    I need help h23a1w/f22 trans.

Well this shit is starting to piss me off. I have to use the f22 trans. because the h23 trans decided to take a shit on me, but for some reason the f22 trans will not go all the way into the h23. The input shaft will go in about halfway maybe more so that the bell housing is about 1inch to 2 inches away from the block and it won't want to go in any more. I talked to a friend about it and he said try puttin the motor on TDC and I did but it still does the same thing. I looked in one of the Chilton books and it said nothing about the motor being on TDC, but I dunno if its the way I read it or what but it seemed in the book it was saying to use the bell housing bolts to make the trans flush with the block. I thought that the trans. should always be flush with the block before tightening the bolts but correct me if I'm wrong. And let me know if I'm missing something asap b/c i really need to get this done.
    thanks

it should go all trhe way in before you bolt it up.Try to see if the tranny is getting caught on something thus not allowing it to mate on the block.

Try and put the tranny in neutral or reverse. But check Flywheel, pressure plate and clutch over again.

Sorry I got tied up with graduation last night I got it yesterday in like 15min. I ended up tiltin the motor up on its side and using gravity's help to get it to slide ride in. I was like I'l be god damned so its all good now. Thanks for all your help guys

yeah ive had that same issue... you need to make sure the tranny is being pushed on perfectly straight, the weight on the back end makes it sag and the shaft isnt straight enough to go in. also if the splines werent meshing correctly, having somebody jiggle the crank pulley a bit back and forth while youre putting the tranny on can help everything line up. glad you got it back on, im sure already having the motor out of the car helped.

yea mom has to jiggle the crank while you close 1 eye, and squeeze your cheeks just right. And thats how you get the SOB in. <<<<My DIY for installing the f22 tranny on a h23a1. BTW the motor and tranny are bolted back in now as of tonight. Little bit of finess with the engine crane jack stands and me puttin some ass behind it to slide that hoe under the engine bay so maybe soon I'll have some vids of me still sad I'm gonna miss the OC car and truck show again for the second year in a row(had to work last year)
