    h22 swap progress w/ pics... (no 56k)

alright, my excitement feels the need to show you all a bunch of pics.

for those who might not have known, im pulling my 247k F22A1, and dropping in a 94 JDM H22A, with the help of a friend. we both inexperienced, so this is pretty crazy...

so heres the update. thursday is over, we wasted alot of time running back and forth buying parts, we really dont have the proper tools. but anyway.

we finally got the f22 pulled, tomorrow we will be transferring things over to the h22, and getting it set back into the engine bay, then spend some time getting it reconnected.

everything disconnected, about to be pulled:

that thing is a pain to lift at an angle like that...

    its gone. scary.

you know what, u should wash or clean that engine bay...its a clean engine ina dirty engine bay...ur not going to get power =).

hahaha shit if i was there ill be cleaning the bay with my bare hands.

looks good man. finally got some pics up!
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

Sweetness... Man, you are an inspiration! And to think, I paid $1749 for someone to do that for me...

Be very careful getting the H22 in there. It's a squeeze, and it's easy to smash a sensor, I hear.

Yeah screw that bro Your best bet right now is to take the engine without smashing a sensor try to put the engine underneath the car and bolt it up from there its much easier bro. from up top you have to dangle all that bullshit. Make sure you use a 4x4 if you put it from under the bottom theres gonna be alt of toggle work where you have to dangle shit around.

lol, talk about going overboard, where the hells the bumper and headlights?

See if you can grind off the more rusted areas and repaint them with some good spray paint.

lol yeah, i took the bumper off because im gonna install my new stock lip once i finish the swap... and once the bumper was off, the jdm headlights were just hanging out, ready to be smashed by something... so i pulled those off too.

rust sucks. im gonna clean the engine bay and try to grind, neutralize, and paint as much as i can get to.

3-19-04: got the rust painted, everything swapped over to the h22 (fuel rail and line, wiring, some hoses, alt, ac compressor... screwed the PS pump for now, the bracket doesnt fit? oh well.), we got most of the wiring harness connected... gonna drop it in tomorrow.

I think I used the Prelude PS pump for my car... Perhaps the Accord one doesn't fit properly. I dunno, I sold my Accord one to Jay (well, traded for the lip and one of my corners... I paid for the other corner light)

i hear the accord one fits besides one of the bolts to hold down the bracket... i cant really use the prelude one because i dont have the P/S lines for it, and i really dont feel like spending any more money... maybe at some point ill bolt one of them on and hook it up, its the easiest accessory to get to.

yeahhhhh... i wish i had a better 'before' pic! dillon, the guy ive been working with, spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the empty bay with a rag, roll of paper towels, and a bottle of oxy clean, and he did a damn good job. the ledge under the battery was sanded and painted, and most other white spots were cleaned. looks a ton better, and the h22 itself is pretty clean. i think im gonna be happy ill get a pic of the cleanliness... which compared to your car, probly wont compare... but its good for me... lol
