    What year is my H22?

When I got my swap, I was told it was an engine from anywhere between a
92-96 JDM Prelude... but they were unsure what yer exactly.

Is there any way to find the exact year car the engine was in? Or is this impossible?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

okay when the header heatshield is off just on the block there should be a series of circles with arrows on it pointing up and shit thats if you can see it if it doesnt have alot of dirt on it. Youll see that it will have like a 9 arrow pointing up and then 3 or so like that that represents the year you may have

Yea, you have to look hard for it. you have to look from an angle, behind the headers on the block. I almost gave up i was so confused the first time i looked for it, but then again im lazy... If i recall right the numbers are on the right side when ur lookig at the engine, close to pulleys and such

heres a picture of my block

and the description is what h22sparkle said exactly. mine is a 94 block cuz one of the circles is stamped 9|4

ok, so I take it that my motor was made on Sept 1, 1994?

also, a bit off topic... but does the fact that there's no number after the A make it genuinely JDM?

hope I don't sound like too much of a moron

ps.... how the hell do I get my block clean without taking it apart??? you know... all that white blotching... it's quite ugly.

yes, you have a JDM motor and the year of the motor is a 1994.

when i cleaned my block, used a scratch pad by 3M and it worked fine. took all the grime off then i polished it a little.
