Which CV shaft and intermident shaft is needed?

    Which CV shaft and intermident shaft is needed?

    Hey,

    After reading the swap guide for swapping a 4spd to a 5spd it makes mention in the list of stuff needed a "Driver side CV Shaft and Intermedient shaft".

    a few questions:
    1) Since I'm getting the full swap from HMO, they are sending the axels and intermeident shaft from the prelude, can any of that stuff?
    2) If not, what do I need? 5spd equals for the same car (ie. 1991 5spd)?
    3) Can I use reuse the axles and stuff from my automatic accord?

    I know I need a 5spd tranny mounting bracket, and I have that. Can I just reuse the auto tranny mount? or do I need to buy a manual tranny mount?

    i replied to your PM... ill actually repost it here, for future reference.

    1. the tranny mount is in two halves, the round rubber part is bolted to a mounting plate, the auto plate is made to match the auto tranny. so you can unbolt the rubber mount and mount it to a new MANUAL plate so itll bolt onto the manual tranny. then with the new bracket welded to the car, itll fit right in. get it from the dealer, its like $25.

    2. you need the 5spd intermediate shaft and driver side axle from a 5spd 90-93 accord, the prelude axles wont do you any good. keep your current passenger axle.

    3. to find out where to weld the tranny bracket, i cut the old one off, prepared the motor, and dropped the motor into the car and bolted the other three mounts in. i dropped the mount bracket into place and he put a couple tack welds to hold it there, then i took the motor back out, and he went along the edges of the mount to finalize it. i then painted it up and put the motor back in, and it all fit perfectly

        you could also use the prelude intermediate shaft and use a custom or accord driver's side axle with the prelude outer boot.

          thats actually how i ended up doing mine... its really annoying to do, and in my opinion its not worth it. in the future, every time you would want to replace the axle youll need to swap CV joints. i just was pressed for time and had a hard time finding an accord intermediate shaft
