    h22a with m2a4/m2b4 tranny in cb7

hi after A LOT of deciding i am planning on doing a h22a swap (yes i know another one ). these swaps r done so many times in the USA but not so many here in NZ! im gonna get the jdm engine with manual tranny (either m2a4 or m2b4) and put it in my 4dr 1991 accord lx manual. well the prob is i dunno if these trannys will fit in my old tranny case or if i will need to mod something. i read sumwhere dat i will need to drill somewhere in the casing? well if u guys have any info on da tranny and swap please share. thanks

The tranny won't fit in the old tranny case. If you do the full swap, you will be fine with the stock tranny and case on the JDM motor.

If you didn't know the difference.. M2A4 is non-lsd and M2B4 is LSD.

whichever tranny you decide to use, leave it bolted to the H22 and itll fit right into the car, and your stock axles will match up fine.

what you heard about drilling the tranny is to get a prelude tranny (m2a4/b4) to accept the accord tranny mount, there are two small holes on the top that need to be drilled with a 11/32 drill bit and tapped with a 10x1.25 tap. the tranny can then be put right into the car, just like hte old one came out.

so the original casing on the tranny fits fine in the cb7, but the tranny dont match up to the casing that comes in the cb7.
did u use ur accord tranny or the h22a tranny and how did u install it?
i heard that the accord tranny will make the h22a engine slower due to its gearing.

dont worry about swapping trannies and casings and whatnot, the prelude and accords have the same shape/size trannies, besides those two holes that i posted a picture of. so if you want to use the prelude tranny, itll fit perfectly fine.

my h22 came with the m2a4 pre-mounted on it, so i dropped the entire thing in my car with no swapping around of casings and whatnots.

to mount the motor and tranny, you will use all of your existing stock accord mounts and axles. check out the "popular threads" index stickied at the top of the Swaps forum for tons of info related to this, in it youll find the complete h22 swap info guide: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...&threadid=5423

10mm x 1.25mm. The tap threads the whole that you make with the 11/32 drill bitso that the stud screws in.
