Did you have that shipped to you? I thought it was illegal to ship motors with fluids in them? hmm...

Looks just like my wifes f22a, all nasty on the inside. Im going to say that it was just caused by cheap ass motor oil.

diassemble it as much as you can, clean out the majority of the crap, and replace any main oil seal. then drop it in, do some after-install cleanup (run seafoam, etc) and run it as is!!!

I would just rebuild it, it might cost more but then at least you know it will run good. Just disasemble it, get it cleaned at a machine shop. Put new rings, bearings, seals, etc. in it. Just get the pistons cleaned and you should be fine to reuse them.

I would take off the head and seafoam/brake clean the shit out of the head. I did that to mine but it did not have sludge.. I just wanted to clean it out.

After that take off the oil pan and clean the rest of the sludge around the rods and girdle.

Assemble with all new seals, head gasket, manual tensioner, timing belt and all..

Dont forget to take out the vtec solenoid since it had sludge you might not engage vtec since the ports would be clogged.

I have an MP1A LSD in my sedan. Sucks you didnt get that. but at least you got an uncut downpipe.

yeah my trans code is an MP0A...supposedly nonLSD but when I had it out, I could see through it, there was no bar in the middle, so I guess it has an LSD. AND I made it home one day from the track w/ only 1 axle going, so for sure it has to be LSD

I actually think its because an oil change in Japan costs on average $80 for cheap shit.
I've decided to get the LSD tranny and while I wait, replace the majority of seals

could you spin both tires when the car was jacked off the ground? i think thats one test but im not entirely sure. the differential check is the best thing. maybe you got an aftermarket lsd in that tranny?

MY jdm h22 looked worst than that.... you can read through this thread about my motor...there are pics http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...99602.....what we did with my motor was just a really good cleaning and replaced pretty much every single seal on the engine.....did a compression test and the motor was good....also plasti gage the main bearings also just to check....there was no real wear on my motor...the cams, rockers, main bearings,...etc etc....everything was okay....just gotta really clean it up good...make sure oil pump and oil passages arent blocked....frequent oil changes with seafoam at first....but my motor runs strong to this day....and i daily drive it.

I seen this motor on JHOT for a while and they advertised it as a parts motor and sold it for cheap. I wish I had of known it had good compression or else I would have bought it and cleaned it out. I got that same automatic in my garage and about to hook it up to my F22a1.

I would do what the majority have been sayin...just clean it out really good. Run some cheapo oil through with a can of sea foam around the block a few times and then change the oil and you should be good to go. You should change the seals, belts, and any other maintence item before you put it in and will result in years of good service.
