    Auto to Manuell Swap problems!!

I got an Accord 91 mod. It was a f22a engine with automatic in the first place, but swapped it into an h22a JDM with automatic tranny.

After many problems, and attempts to get this tranny working, ive now placed an f20a manuell tranny in the car. It bolts up just fine, but the axels will not fit any more?

When the axel is mounted in the tranny, to make it fit with the wheelhub, through the suspension-fork, it got an ugly angle so nothing will fit. Even the ball joint will not fit into the bearing arm.

Ive disasembled this suspension many many times, and never ran into such problems like this.

Can someone for sure, tell me if the tranny will work, or not?
And will a f22a manuell tranny work instead?

    Thanks for all help.

The F22 trans will work and the H22/23 trans will work. For the H trans you have to borrow a drive shaft from the donor car if i'm not mistaken. You should only have to replace one of them from what i've read.

you need a manual drive axle setup for the driver side of the car, which is the normal thing to do when converting a car from Automatic to 5spd. im guessing you havent read the swap guides? because there are a lot of little things that you need to look into to make it work right.

ok.. well ive trying to read those guides, but im from norway, and there is words i dont understand..

Anyways, what did u mean about axel setup for driver side?

Just found out from the guide that its best to cut off an manuell motor mount bracket from the donor car, and weld it on in the correct position in engine bay, and also use manuell motor mount, right?

Feel kinda stupid asking this, but can i assembly the wheel hubs, axels and suspension before all engine mounts is assembled?

What transmission mount did you use? The automatic tranny mount will not work.

The tranny is the same the ratios are what is different. Your angle is coming from the tranny mount. You need to weld the bracket correctly or get a 4th gen prelude mount or an aftermarket conversion mount.

ok so, since the last motor mount isnt yet assembled, will cause the axel not to fit correct?

I thought this was just horisontal, not also vertical? Or is it ment to be a kinda big bend on the axel?

The automatic tranny bracket is set closer the front of the vehicle. You need a mount that takes this ino account.

                    ino account?

In other words, weld the bracket on so it will fit up against the axels?

Yes, the auto transmission mount is sitting closer to the front of the car so it won't line up the axle correctly.

Move/weld the auto transmission mount to where the manual transmission mount would be and you should be ok.

ok, but, then il have to adjust all engine mounts, not just one.. Its missing atleast 7 cm to line up the axels to wheel hub..

But, has anyone here used a f20a manuell tranny? Cause im thinking i have to use the f22a tranny instead to make it fit...

there is nothing wrong with your transmission, you just need to properly fix your mounts and get an axle and intermediate shaft from a 5spd Accord for that side of the vehicle.
