...but its not my motor. this was all a friend's narration, i was present on the phone during the process (im away at school)... notice i never said "i" or "my" but still this is depressing...

I was thinking it sounded like some sort of detonation/pre ignition type thing when I first read it...

Cranking it over shot an assload of raw gas into the cylinders...sounds like the spark from the plug wire ignited the fuel...

bending a rod came to mind when I first read it...

I've got a good idea of what happened here but the explenation would be long as hell and I have to run. If you catch me on AIM mike hit me up I'll try to explain what I think took place.

P.S. It was pretty much out of your control. I don't think you would have been able to avoid it had you been expecting the problem. So don't beat yourself up. It was bound to go down.
