why does my car bounce to the side when i drive over bumps?

like when im going 20-40 mph and there's this bump thing in the road, and i drive over it and i can feel the rear of the car bounce sideways, instead of a normal straight on bounce.

that's what i was thinking too...
could it be other suspension components?

if it's the struts/shocks, then time for some coilovers!

happened on my crx, but I knew it was because of a bent trailing arm

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

could it also be the sway bar end links? b/c when those wear out, your sway bars will be sloppy and can't control the motion of the car rolling anymore.

yes they do, i think energy suspension makes some sweet looking red ones that'll really firm things up.

                  they sure do...

btw: the first thing to always check with steering and suspension problems is even tire pressure.

when i first got the cb7, both my rear tires wouldnt hold more than 20psi of air and the rear end floated over bumps. kinda scary now that i tihnk of it.

rear upper control arm can do it also i pulled me hand bakes and did a 180 in the road when my bud drove by and it blew the bushing wow my ass was all over the place but it really kinda sounds like u need new struts or sway bar bushings.

                      i was wondering...
if it was my struts, wouldn't my car be all bouncing around and none of the bumps i go over would be dampered?

or is it because my struts are just bad, and not blown out yet?

here's one test you could do, push up and down on the front and rear bumpers of your car and see how much it moves up and down. If your shocks are in good condtion, the up and down movement should settle and stop moving as soon as you stop pushing or like a second later. If your shocks are blown, then the car will continue to move up and down, and it will be really easy to create this motion when your shocks are blown, since they offer no damping resistance for the springs. In essence, all the up and down movement is caused by the oscillation of the springs, the shocks are there to dampen it.

could be alignment of toe...of the toe is to one side, when the bump hits the car turns slightly that way.

                          though struts play important role.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

Bring it to a suspension/alignment shop where they can check out your suspension properly. Diagnosing something like this online could result to alot of different answers/opinons.

Just don't wanna see you toss money away. Get it checked out professionally and fix it! Doesn't sound safe anyways.
