    New goodies, and a question

Ok, got my new Sprint Extremes in and am planning on putting them in tomorrow. Unfortunately i am not the greatest on suspension knowledge (i can do the install, don't worry)

Anyways, something weird i noticed tonite when i was test fitting them to the AGX's was that the spring doesnt really sit all the way down on the perch. Its on the perch, but at the highest point, not settled into the "groove" Heres a pic i decorated out of boredom:

it seems like the spring is tapered a little more than the strut. Now i think that once i get it in the weight will shove it down the extra little bit, but is there something im missing?

Also, the top hat thing sits on the spring crooked. I've always used sleeve over coilovers, this is my first lowering "spring", so is it normal for the top to sit crooked? It's because of the bevel they put in the spring, i dunno i can take pics if i need to. thanks guys

cool, and once you put them on your car you didnt have a problem?

like i said, I don't know, i've had 5 setups on two different cb7's and all of them were sleeve type coilovers.

now on my rear koni's they came with a little rubber trim around the inside of the perch for the spring to sit on, but the agx's did not. Is this a big deal? sleeve type coilovers of course doesnt make use of this so i may have trashed it. thanks for the help!

SHould be fine after you put them on the car. Just make sure they are seated right.

yes, just tighten them down with everything seated correctly. the perch is still serving its purpose, and with the nut an washers on the top, itll straighten out.

ok, got a late start today and got the rears swapped in. Sprint Extremes will SLAM your car to the ground, i don't know if i'll be able to drive it with the kit lol. got a problem though.

on the drivers side, (i have Koni Yellow's in the rear btw) the lower bolt that threads into the nut provided on the Yellows, well it goes in and shows like 4 threads then keeps missing, skipping, whatever you wanna call it, so it doesnt tighten all the way tight. Other side tightens up fine, this side not so much. Does anyone think this will actually back out? i was thinking if it's a problem that i would just go buy a stop-nut. Which brings up the question, anyone know what the threads and size are of that bolt?

try swapping the bolts between sides. help narrow down if its the bolt or the strut's nut thats causing the problem.

but for something like this, you might just want to get a new bolt from the dealer, its only a few bucks and itll fit and match perfectly.

the nut is welded to the bottom of the shock right?

and its just not threading into that?

yeah, the nut is welded to the bottom of the chock from Koni.
it is threading in there, it threads in till like 4 threads are poking out of the nut, it just won't tighten up. Like the pass side is tight, but the drivers side is loose, not like hand loose, but easy with a socket, even on the ground.

ALSO, i broke my breaker bar off the axle nut today (using exhaust pipe for extra leverage), it's unstaked and PB Blasted all to hell, how the eff does this mother come off?? i've searched and searched and seems everyone has the consesus that its a PITA, but i took the one off my civic in like 2 mins. how come this mother is so effin hard??? am i missing something???

ok i need help and yes, i searched

got the old axle out today, drivers side, automatic non-abs, anyways, got the new one and can;t get that sucker in all the way into the tranny. I got it wiggled in so that the snap ring and splines are not showing, but its not in all the way, like an inch still left to go. It is the right axle, i checked/compared it to my old one at the store. Anyone have any tips/tricks to getting this thing all the way into the tranny? THANK YOU!!!

yea i broke a torque wrench (never ever use a torque wrench to loosen, lol) and two 18" break bars. eventually i went to the wheel shop, they blasted it off with their air impact gun and tightened back to around 100lbs.
