    rod over wheel

I'm getting the car droped this week. I looked had there is like a rod almost on my tire. I know what it is but forgot the name. I want to do a 3in. Drop so that means no gap but I want to know what do I do with that rod looking thing because it seems that it would be in the way.

are you talking about the one in the back? because that moves with the drop...

      front or back?

in either case, thats part of the suspension, and doesnt go lower with the car, it stays a fixed distance away from the wheel (thats how you can go over bumps without it hitting...) as long as you dont get bigger tires that are big enough to hit it, lowering the car wont make it rub.

the only thing youll have to worry about at a 3" drop is having that upper control arm hit the upper inside of the fender

I remember a while back this guy told me to get a hammer and beat the inside of the fender so I don't have to worry about the arm hitting. Is that a good idea or is there something better to do

Have you ever had a wheel/tire off of your car to look? It's just the suspension.....

              .....

if your talkin about the piece that looks kinda like a wishbone then it will stay the same distance from the tire when it drops it'll just move with the drop. I was worried about that also when i put my coilovers on.
