    Spring creaks very loud.

Ever since I put on my 17" rims, my cars right spring(passanger side), creaks really loud when turning, and when ever it hits a bump(any size). I have looked at it and the only thing that does not look normal is the front coil spring isolator.

This is what it is looks like

I have new ones, but haven't had the chance to install them. Could this be what is causing the noise?

It looks like it's cracked on the top right, but your noises sound like ball joints.

Yeah I forgot to mention the isolator is torn haha. Don't ball joints make a banging noise when they are no good?

no its your ball joints. they are out of grease and is rubbing metal to metal.your springs do not move at all when turning. the only time you will hear a banging sound out of your ball joints is when they break and the car is hitting the ground.

Mine only started making banging noises after 4 months of driving on them. Even then, it was only on turns.

I don't drive the car much since I don't have my license yet. I am going to save up for the whole restoration kit on TASauto.

                You need new springs.

And yes the upper balljoint likes to squeek when it drys out .
                wat?

Going to get new suspension setup soon. Going with Function and Form type 1, but I want to make sure my 20 year old suspension is safe before I drop it.

thats good because when the parts are old and then you drop it ,you start hearing wierd noises.i just finished replacing 80% of my suspension due to old age and sloppness after the drop. Feels much better

The upper BJ do bang some times when there bad. It sounds like maybe the lowers are dry. My coupe is the same way but its about to be parted out soon so I not worried about them.

I would check the status of your lower ball joints first. I have had worn out uppers and lowers, and only the lowers really made the loud creaking noise that you are describing. Also, make sure you replace with OEM Honda joints. Duralast or any other sub-par aftermarket joint will most likely be creaking a month down the road. Good luck

I'm going with a whole kit from TASauto.com. I was going to go with all moog ball joints, but for $186 I can get a whole kit that includes the ball joints and control arms and is easy to install.

Another question, will I need an alignment after I install the upper and lower control arms?

It is always a good idea to get an alignment after you replace or alter a suspension component. Although, theoretically your suspension geometry should be the same if they are OEM replacement arms. But, since you are starting right with all fresh gear under there you might as well finish it off right with an alignment. Who knows when the last time it was aligned.

Yeah that's very true actually. It has also been pulling to the right a bit so that should also be fixed with the alignment.
