I installed Megan adjustable upper control arms in the rear and after had my rear camber and toe adjusted within spec. I then replaced all the bushing in my rear lower control arms (2 bushings per arm, 2 arms on each side). Took the car in for re-alignment.
Results were:
Left Rear Camber: -0.7 degrees (specified range -1.0 to 0.0)
Left Rear Toe: -0.16 degrees (specified range 0.00 to 0.16)
Right Rear Camber: -1.2 degrees (specified range -1.0 to 0.0)
Right Rear Toe: 0.08 degrees (specified range 0.00 to 0.16)
The alignment tech says he can’t move the left rear toe anymore. He says the bolt is already at its limit of travel.
1) Does the adjustable camber in the upper control arms give you anymore play in the toe that the tech overlooked?
2) I’ve heard that if you can’t adjust toe on one side you can compensate on the other to get your total toe within spec. True? My total toe is currently -0.08 degrees (specified range 0.00 to 0.32)
3) Should I pull and reinstall the left toe adjustment bolt. Could I have installed the bolt wrong? Can I shim the bolt in anyway?
4) Any other way I can fix my rear toe?
On my last alignment (7/17/10) with the old bushings but everything else the same, the rear adjusted perfectly.
Left Rear Camber: -0.5 degrees (specified range -1.0 to 0.0)
Left Rear Toe: 0.06 degrees (specified range 0.00 to 0.16)
Right Rear Camber: -0.8 degrees (specified range -1.0 to 0.0)
Right Rear Toe: 0.09 degrees (specified range 0.00 to 0.16)
