Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Dont be cheap and buy a new pressure switch if not find one at a jyard and pocket it.

Just unplug the vac line for the IAB just plug up where it goes to the IM.

I agree. Bypassing your pressure switch is removing a safety net.

They aren't very expensive. Do it right and replace it.

As for the IAB's, you can do 2 things.

      1) You can disconnect vacuum so they stay open. I don't think this is going to increase your HP.

      2) You can pull the plenum off (5 nuts/bolts, and remove the IAB plate altogether. You will need 1 plenum gasket, so that you have a gasket to put on there.

There is some controversy on the effectiveness of doing this as well. Some people claim to have seen 5WHP and 5 WTQ from removing them, some claim to have lost power and some claim to have not seen anything.

on my car, with the pressure switch disconnected, i get a CEL. but if i connect the d6 pressure switch wire to the a4 vtec solenoid output wire, no CEL. gives it the signal that the pressure switch is ok i guess effectively a pressure switch bypass... the switch is a safeguard against going into vtec with low oil pressure. but if you have the switch already, you might as well just wire it up properly... i didnt, because my motor didnt come with one from the factory, like some other jdm h22s.. and now after my issues, i wish i had one.

also for your intake manifold, you can take the IAB plate out if you pull the two studs out of the lower half, and get 5 bolts the right size and length to bolt the plenum right to the runners.. or just leave the vac line disconnected, and the valves will stay open.
