Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Got a new tranny

Tonite I picked up an 5th gen EX transmission for next to nothing, compared to my 4th gen LX tranny it is slightly quicker in 3rd and 4th, but 5th has extra overdrive. Based on Cisco's information I did some calculations...

    P2U5 94-97 Accord EX
    3.307 - 1st
    1.809 - 2nd
    1.185 - 3rd
    0.933 - 4th
    0.685 - 5th
    4.062 - final drive

    M2A5 90-93 Accord LX/DX
    3.307 - 1
    1.809 - 2
    1.23 - 3
    0.903 - 4
    0.705 - 5
    4.062 - final drive

The 5th gen EX tranny @ 6500 RPM:
    Gear RPM Speed
    1st N/A 35.2
    2nd 3556 64.3
    3rd 4132 101.1
    4th 5273 124.6
    5th 4772 169.8
RPM in top gear at 70 mph: 2680

    My 4th gen LX tranny @ 6500
    Gear RPM Speed
    1st N/A 35.2
    2nd 3556 64.3
    3rd 4420 94.5
    4th 4772 128.8
    5th 5075 164.9
RPM in top gear at 70 mph: 2759

    *cliffs*

With the EX tranny i'll top out 3rd at 95 mph instead of 101 mph, and will hit 4th gear 200 RPM higher than with the LX tranny. I will hit 3rd gear 300 RPM higher at 4420 RPM.

....every little bit helps, so anyone know if my axles will work with the 5th gen

    hold on to your butts

well it depends on what model your car is lx has the regular axle the ex has a extra lining that will make the axle not fit properly inside the hub . If your car is an ex and the the axle is an ex then you can

yes the ex ones had the abs excitor ring, but they are interchangeable and fit fine. hemlockz - use stock accord axles, the 5th gen tranny lines up the same.
