    WHat is the lightest material to make a Sub box out of?

    i thought fiberglass but not sure its for 2 12s

    if ur throwing 2 12's in ur car anyway, the weight of the box shouldnt really matter

          fiberglass is the best but ur molding will be the issue and cardboard can be used there along with mdf chickenwire and fleece. just subs them self are light its the boxes that get heavy....

              Why?
              Do you want them to sound like sh*t?

              The box has to be stiff so it doesn't resonate and act like a speaker.
              The only thing making sound should be the speaker cone.
              Brace, brace....and then brace.

                  Fiberglass works, just make sure it is thick enough.

                          yeah id also recommend the Morningwood Fiber Composite line.... just ask for morningwood at a hardware store or stereo shop they will be able to help you out no problem. very light, very very solid, and very useful.
