i think mike means his rear window is tinted dark not his tails.

i was thinking of retrofitting in some leds but that 50w bulb seems like an easier route

my rear window is tinted, and it makes it very difficult to see when backing up.

i installed these bulbs today. not quite the brightness i was hoping for, but still brighter... i wonder if it would make more of a noticable difference in 9293 tails. i havent tried driving/backing up with them yet, but ill report back with whether or not they make a noticable difference.

heres the side to side pictures.

in the first pic, the left is original, right is the new H3 bulb.

in the second pic, both H3 bulbs are installed. the left one is actually a little bit brighter even in person, i think its because of the tail housings, the passenger side one is cracked a little bit...

      anyway:

The 9091 backup lights suck. when I swapped to 9293 light they are brighter (with the same bulbs)

I wander why the 9293's are brighter

Mike, those dont really look a whole lot brighter....Let us know how much a different they make after a few times of using them.

Theyre only, maybe, 6 inches closer to the ground. More focused, probably.

all backup lights are crappy on our cars no matter what year, bulb, etc. it's just the design on it.

i suggest if you really wanna see is to run an auxilary light just like off road trucks. it makes for an effective rear fog too!

same here, when i was first driving the car it had 15% rear, and the black tails... couldnt see SHIT!... i always gotta stick my head out the window... with these bulbs i was expecting some intense, serious ass-lighting, but it was a huge letdown. they may in fact be even worse... had a very hard time last night...

Yeah I bought one of those 50 watt bulbs from advanced auto a couple of years ago, works nice but don't leave it in reverse too long(like 10 min or something) my buddy had 2 in his escort and left it in reverse with the key on for 2 hours. Melted the lenses no problem.
