Yeah they're aftermarket. And Yo cpmike did you have any problems with the inner red/clear tail lights from procarparts.com? Because I bought a set from them about 4 years ago and the outside lights fit like a glove but the inner lights didn't fit at all so I sent them back and got a set from autodynamic. But after a couple of years something was sitting out of my trunk and my brother closed the trunk and chipped the inner tails so I need another set. Just wondering if they products are better fitting now.

there was a DIY guide for 3rd genners, that explained how to make your own red/clears. for them, you actually break off all of the amber plastic, and heat and shape plexiglass and peices of office lighting and glue them on. the pics in the guide looked really good... i considered trying it out on a coupe taillight, see how it looked.

there is a DIY out there somewhere...i think you used a dremel to cut out the amber and then use the plastic covers that office lights have and use that for the white part...its out there somewhere, just have to look for it.

no doubt man...I'll post pics in just a second... just a little confused what you mean by studs...you mean the threads where the nuts bolt onto? They're all perfect and trust me man they fit my car perfectly, it was just my outer left taillight that gave me problems (the outer left had all the 3 threads basically rust and break off due to all the water leakage, but i replaced them w/ threads from home depot and they'll probably still work) But the inners were perfect and never leaked or had fitment issues...just that one outer left taillight had problems but it was probably because I lost the gasket and never could find one.
The lenses are in immaculate shape (I always waxed them along with the car) no scratches and the top chrome trim is in great condition. On the inner chrome trim, however, one is completely worn off and gone (shiny smooth cream plastic now) and the other the chrome is really spotting and wearing off. It's inevitable with time though. The chrome trim is cheap on the red/clear tails for our cars, but the visible strip part on the top is in great shape.
throw me an offer (I might just try and sell the used set of 4 pcs on ebay if you aren't interested)

Looks pretty good, and yeah I was talking about the studs where the nuts thread to. That's the same exact kind I had when I first bought them and they didn't work. But if you say you had no problem and fitment is good then I'll take your word for it. How about $35 just for the inner tail lights?
