    white bumper lights legal?

are white bumper lights legal, as opposed to blinking amber? i'm in massachusetts, if state matters. and im pretty sure white corner lights are illegal, but can someone reiterate? im talking about the color of the light that will blink, not the outer lense

I've had hyperwhites for 4 years, never had an issue. I have the bumper conversion and amber 194s.

well in california, the only colors of light you can have in the front of the car are white and amber. that's why some get pulled over for having hyperwhites since some hyperwhites look more blue than white. having red in the front is obviously illegal (since it's only for emergency/police vehicles).

most of the states follow california law regarding automobiles due to the fact that california has the strictest law in the whole nation (especially regarding smog!). so to answer your question, yes it IS perfectly legal to have white blinkers up front.

in NY, it was my understanding that white blinker bulbs are illegal. also, my car failed inspection because the clear bumper lenses werent "DOT approved" ... i put the stock ones back in just for the inspection, then put the clear ones with amber bulbs in for the rest of the year. in my opinion, at least in some areas, hyperwhite blinkers are just asking to get you pulled over. now if you just use stock white bulbs, they look kinda yellowish, and they would probably be fine.

The place I went to actually praised me on having nice bright lights up front, and told me how much they liked how they looked. Weird, huh?

Ja. It varies from state to state. Call your local police department and ask them.
