    Another BB6 dash swap

I have a complete bb6 donor car and an extra cb7 shell to use to fit everthing before it goes into my daily car. I'm also going to use the complete console from the bb6. So far I have to two dashes trimmed and almost ready to start molding together. I am using the same concept that Wherm did on his swap just different materials in some places. Once I have the two pieces put together and fittng I am going to move on to the HVAC system and the wiring then on to the console and e-brake.

I have to say that this isn't a swap to be attempted by the inexperienced. I am doing this swap with access to 2 complete cars as well as a complete paint and body shop.

here is the progress so far.

once glassed, what are you going to do for the final finish? wrap it in vinyl or glass it entirely and paint?

the fiberglass is only temporary. I'm just using it to hold the two pieces together so I can take it out of the car. As soon as I put the adhesive on the inside I will take the fiberglass off and fill the gap on the outside. The final covering will be a material called flock.

                    Ooh, flocking. Very nice.

I have to ask though, why did you go with a BB6 dash instead of, say, a newer Accord dash? Like a 6G...? Just wondering.

I bought a bb6 to part out and used the cluster myself. Instead of having to do all that trimming to make it loom right I decided to just use the whole dash since I have all the parts needed to do it right. And its in memory of a friend that had a bb6.

The foam is dry so I took off the fiberglass on the outside and this is what I have so far. The two parts are put together. Now I will reinforce the inside and start the cosmetic work on the outside.

I didn't get much done on the dash itself today but I got the tunnel cut out of the bb6 so that I can use the console. (got the idea from wherm) Hopefully by the middle of next week I will have the dash ready for flock.
