what to to expect when removing dash

have any of u remove the whole dash in ur car, or kno someone who has?
u kno to liten the load.

if so, how does it look under there?
i was thinking about doing this and custom make something to cover it up, like a material thats like 2-3pounds.
i just want to know what to expect once i pull the dash off, thanks.

also, im talking about the complete dash, not just the part that goes around the gauge area and radio area.

You can expect a big bloody mess... wires & such everywhere.... But the stock dash probably only weighs 20 pounds total...

well everything adds up,
ill see once i take it off and see if i want to do a custom job on whats left, if not.........its goin back on

i want to go all race but i just cant give up my interior....

the back seats are gone, had one front seat but i brought race seats and they both are liter then the one stock seat but i cant give up my door panels.... worked to hard painting them.

but im tryna think of somethin to cover the inside doors also if i was to remove the panels.

maybe one of u can help me with some ideas

pretty much when i took off my dash in my old car....it was like 20 screws and 10 bolts and then about 5 or 6 wire harnesses that u have to unplug...but it is pretty easy...i found some money behind my dash....a few reciepts....and a ink pen.....but u never know what u will find...

my car was PACKED with crap... pulled out the back seat and i found piles of broken glass, papers of all kinds, crayons, pens, pencils, toys, and on and on... wonder what im gona find in the dash when i take mine off.

I am going to be doing this around xmas time. I am going to recover it in vinyl to match my door panels that i did. I am wanting to put a guage pod on the dash in front of the clock like the wrx's, but im not sure if I will yet. I dont have anything to put there, but it will be nice when I do.

Has anyone done this yet...where are all the screws at? I want to take mine off and fiberglass over it and maybe mold a tv into it...or at least take it off and paint of the burgandy color.--Jay
