The spots in the photos are lens flare. Stray light is reflecting on the different lens elements, and possibly dust inside and/or on the outside the lens.~If everybody you knew jumped off a bridge...the bodies would pile high enough to break your fall if you jumped after them.~

i really want to pick up a truck and try this on it.
id say wetsand every second coat and buff/polish the last one

2 coats, wetsand with 800. 2 more coats, 800 again. 2 more coats, 1000, maybe 1500... then polish (gonna have to ask sean to help with his power buffer!) I'm not expecting perfection, but so far, I'm quite pleased with the results. It's not even halfway done!
AccordXRacer, I got everything at Wal Mart, except for the sandpaper, which came from Pep Boys.

Not buffed yet. It's getting 6 coats. It'll be wetsanded after every 2 coats. 800 grit after coats 2 and 4, then 1000 grit after coat 6. I might go as high as 1500, maybe even 2000, if the 1000 doesn't come out smooth enough. It's enamel, so there's no need to clear. After buffing, it'll be plenty shiny!

not to jack this thread, but my entire paint job on my cb7 have cost to me 50$ including roller, masking tape, scotchbrite and all... see the result : My ride thread

Looks good, nowkear! It's nice to see someone else has had success with a roller!
I wonder if flat is harder or easier to get right with a roller... I thought about doing flat as well, but I think gloss will be more impressive to say it was done with a roller!
Anyway, here's the result of my wetsanding and coat #3!
Here's half of coat #3, showing the wetsanding job of the first two coats. The far right part, now covered, was a victim of my noob-ness to wetsanding. I did a little too much over there! Can't tell through the paint now, though. We'll see if you can tell when it dries. 3 more coats to go, so it shouldn't be an issue!
Looking better with each coat!
You can see some dust and fuzzies in the paint... no big deal. This is just practice, afterall!

your not wet sanding right...
you need a soft block and not by hand.
never go in circles. always go in a backa nd forth motion and after you get it good go back the other way kinda making an x that way it's been cover well..
i realize this is practice and your learning,, not tryin to tell you how to do it, just a lil help for ya to think about."Self Renewed"
