    How to secure grill mesh???

I was wondering if anyone knows how to secure grill mesh. Should I use hot glue? Something else? I have no idea and I will be putting in black grill mesh in my front bumper pretty soon, so I need an idea. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hot-Glue will melt in heat. I've seen it happen....smells bad.

Drop by a hobby shop...they have the most amazing glues.

The way the VIS does theirs is these little pieces of bendable metal. They're long and narrow. They glue down half, and bend the other half over the mesh.

Yea, I have heard from other people to use screws. I don't really want to go with zip ties. It just doesn't seem reliable.

well what i found worked best was a thin layer of bondo body filler around the piece of mesh.it works great to bond the mesh to my front bumper.its a fiberglass bumper but it should work for any kind.if you have better ideas than use them but this has held up for over a year now with no problems at all.but just use a butter knife to push the bondo into the mesh so it bonds to the bumper.its works great man,i found that glues take to long to dry and they just dont work as good as this.you would think the bondo wouldcrack but it does not.thats your best bet.good luck.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys. I think I might go with screws, but that bondo thing sounds interesting.

i just used zip ties, and when i sprayed it gloss black, i made sure to get all of the ties...couldnt even tell...i guess it depends on how you are mounting the mesh, i mounted mine like atx's.

I used duraglass and fuzar to secure some metal tabs to the back side of the bumper cover then just put the mesh in real secure and folded teh tabs down.

Hasn't come out yet. but my new VIS bumper has it already attached with screws and tabs.

Clear silicon works good for me. it holds nicely if used properly, and can be removed in the future if you ever wanted to re-do the mesh for whatever reason.

I used this real thin frame hanging wire for my grill, worked fine.
