Painted chrome trim?

damnit, i had the idea and started like last month.. i thought i was gonna be semi-unique (i know there are others with it done)... i guess not.

so on an otherwise black car would the trim look better black or chrome?

take a look at patastinky's car, uncle_el posted the link on page 1... if youre blacking out your car, this is something you might wanna try... i think it looks best on black and white cars but otherwise, on black cars, i think the chrome trim on the car looks pretty good.

im kinda torn here, on the one hand i want all black, but then again, some contrast is good to have. i already have amber corners and plan on doing the blackhoused headlights when i replace my front bumper, so i might do this, but i just cant decide if i already have enough contrast or not.

I love fully blacked out cars. If you're gonna have black rims go with the black trim. But if you're gonna have silver rims, keep the chrome. IMO.

well, the rims are really dark, but not black, they are graphite, very similar to gunmetal, and i kept the lip polished on them. i think i might just go ahead and black it out with the electrical tape and see how it turns out. i dont much care for the bling anyways.

when im done, there wont be any chrome on my car at all. i DIY'ed my chrome grille and painted it grey, i bought an extra rear H emblem to paint grey, im gonna be painting my JDM headlight trims grey, i painted the ring around the shifter (ebrake coming soon), and im blacking out my window trim... when i get a chance ill be painting the chrome interior handles im not a fan of the bling either.

if i ever started a car club it would be black doubt, sorta like blacked out, but mad tyte yo. people would doubt us because we were black, at least our cars anyways, they wouldnt be able to see inside and tell if we were black or not.

93twodoorLX started his the other day. I told him I wasn't sure if I liked it... I guess it's more impressive when it's finished. Mike, I'm mad that I never noticed yours at the meet!

I'm actually considering doing it now... The headlights are gonna get blackhoused soon, and when I finally get rims, they'll probably be bronze... My engine bay will be bolished black and chrome though, so I guess I'd have that color scheme somewhere in the car... I dunno. Electrical tape is good for an indecisive person like me!

To make a long story short...mine's getting ghetto. Damn cheap tape!!! But oh well. We're actually going to paint it to match my grill sometime in the near future.
