    90-93 total shaved trunk

    1. i work in a body shop and a few times i have been asked to shave the plate holder for this year accord, but i have noticed that not all 90-93 accords have that lip that goes around the tail lights and is around the plate? u see it? is that lip removeable? can it be installed on all 90-93 accords? the reason i ask is becuase with out that lip i have nothing to weld to for the plate that goes on before the mud to stick to the car. also this would only make a few accords avaliable for the conversion with out buying a whole new trunk lid. i have seen this conversion done and looks nice. peolpe want it they say bc some body kits the rear bumper has the plate holder on the rear bumper and they dont like having two of them so they want the top one shaved to give them a more shaved look to look and more like a hatch back....

    2. iam thinking about doing this on the side and selling them primed or painted for bolt on install "instant shaved trunk" do yall think it would sell? maybe one of yall interested? or you think i could sell it on ebay? also would one of yall have a trunk like this for sale for cheap so that i can try it out? one that even has some dents?

let me hear some feedback on this please

P.s. the picture is up there to show the lip iam talking about its the only piece in between the taillights that looks removable if not i can also shave in side lights as well makign it available or any accord.... let me know

the pic u posted up is a pic of a 92 and 93 sedan. all 90 and 91's and the 92/93 coupes dont have that trim piece around the plate. and im pretty sure that "license plate garnish" is plastic.

when ppl shave their trunks, im pretty sure they pull that out and weld in a sheet of metal. i guess u could sell pre-shaved plate garnishes, but when ppl want to shave the trunk lid im sure they are gonna wanna shave all the little lines and gaps too.

so am i... instead of wrapping in, they have that plastic garnish. hes suggesting making a pre-shaved garnish piece, at least thats how i understand his post...

ok well this is REBELS from this board and his trunk is a 92-93 4dr trunk lid. u can c how it was shaved

          and of course mine.

mine was a coupe trunk so the lights curved in. i had them removed and he put a piece of sheat metal there 2 cover the whole trunk.

its goin 2 be hard 2 figure out how u r goin 2 do it on the 90-91 accords and the 92-93 coupe accords because the lights curve in.

Im also not 100% sure of what your asking, but I can tell you this: on the 92-93 sedans (like the pic) that plastic lip your talking about does come out- take the inner tails off (4 bolts on each), then 2 bolts under the lights and theres like 4 or 5 pop-in clips that you just snap out. Then you'll see the actual metal trunk lid, and most people just weld a peice from the bottom of the trunk lid to the top of the trunk lid, but on mine I left the plastic tag holder peice and glassed over the whole thing. I have pics of what the trunk lid looks like without the inner tails, tag peice, ect. if you want a better idea.

ok sorry for the mix up but here what iam tring to do

i want to buy a trunk lid from a junk yard shave it all and sell it primed or paint whatever you wanted and then i would mail u the WHOLE shaved trunk lid and un bolt yours and bolt mine in place. not peices but the whole thing......basically its a new trunk lid on your accord. you see?

and yall are talking about one solder peice of metal i have a friend who will make me all 3 peices so instead of one peice of metal all the way down its 3 peices making it not stick out as far.

and for akkordlayinkit id like to see thoses pictures.

well if i do the conversion and paint it and mail the whole trunk lid what do u think i could sell it for... basically how much would yall pay on ebay to bid on it and have it shipped and go out side unbolt it and bolt the new lid on and have a instant conversion with out the hassle of a body shop?

sorry for the long post, just tring to get some ideas thanks for the help and check out my teg the links below, i just ordered a full set of 6 emracing bars for the hatch, dad racing seats with spacro 5 point harness, st rear combo bar, and i have some leather panels and such, black with red stiching i got the the door panels and ebrake shifter. ect just to fill u in on what i drive

Heres an old pic without inner tails and the plate holder peice. Also I think some people would like that idea, its kinda like getting a hood, just bolt on the whole thing, but then the shipping would be crazy on it, not to mention how much the junkyard is gonna cost you.

Why dont you just sell both, just the plate shaved / and another with just the inner tails and the lines shaved?
