    Slow Tranny Leak

So guys I wonder if anyone could help me out....

Recently I've checked the auto trans fluid dipstick to see the levels and I remember it was abit over the FULL line but It's now gone down abit, not too much but I notice it could be leaking somewhere.

In the mornings I notice like a small lil drip on the ground the leak size is of a small coin, I look at the transmission and where it connects to the engine and I dont see a leak, The fluid looks kind of reddish but it leaks somewhere towards the front and middle/right side of the car (thats when your facing it from the front). Why does tranny fluid leak from that side, when the tranny is on the left?

I touch the fluid and I swear its kinda red so its got to be tranny fluid right?

parking overtop a piece of cardboard or something similar could pinpoint directly underneath where the leak is coming from...

when things on the engine leak, they run down toward the ground, and back toward the rear of the car (from driving forward! lol)... so if you find where the drip is falling off of, you can follow the wetness up toward where its originating...

perhaps snap some pictures under there if you get close?

try the radiator, the tranny fluid runs thru it, remove the splash shield and check... mine was a loose bolt on the tranny fluid hose connector

Hey so I was looking around the radiator (looking from ontop) and I notice some hose that seem to be covered in dirt/oil when I dabbed it with a piece of tissue it was abit red? Is that the Tranny Fluid hose? Is there only one hose I should be looking at? I think the leak is coming from there?

Anyone know how difficult it is to change this?

          Thanks guys for your inputs.

yes, red fluid is tranny fluid, and there are 2 hoses actually

check those spots circled in red for leaks and tighten the bolts, remove the splash shield from the bottom of the car, it is not hard to remove @ all and it makes everything easier

Thanks Stanchua for clearing it up for me, I've taken some snaps to show you something to see if I'm on the right track.

Firstly are these the two hoses your talking about? I see they are connected to the tranny and lead down to the radiator somewhere...

And secondly, I notice this is where I found alot of build up of dirt and tranny fluids but I washed it this morning with degreaser/water. I didn't see a screw but its them metal clamp things where you press it with the plyers and it loosens up. So I'm on the right track right? I'm jackin the car up later today to see where else its leaking.

              Thanks again man

np dude, glad that i could help out

yeah ur right, those are the 2 hoses that send tranny fluid to the radiator and back to the tranny, tighten the bolts of the clamps if its wet around those spots, clean the spot, and check back in 1 or 2 days

on the spot where you found those oil build-ups, if it is only a basic clamp (non adjustable ones) that is on the hose, you might wanna change it to adjustable bolt clamp because the tight-ness of non-adjustable clamp could've reduced due to aging hence it might cause leaking, and by bolt clamp im referring to this:

                goodluck with it

and if the leak is from the right side, it could be power steering fluid becoz i just fixed mine few days ago, but then u said it was red fluid so im not sure
