does anyone know where you could get the gaskets for the megan racing header. I put the header on two dyas ago and after one day the gasket between the header itself and the downpipe blew out. If anyone had any info about this it would help alot thx.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Megan Racing Gaskets???

The gaskets are an area Megan cheaped out on with their stainless headers. Use Permatex Ultra Copper gasket maker. Lay down about a 3mm layer and assemble the header, but don't torque it down for a few hours. Give the stuff some time to set. After a few hours, torque it down completely and don't start the engine for 12 hours. You should be good after that. This is the stuff to look for:

I found somewhat of a trick to these headers, Since they dont come with a peice coming out of the manifold (like they should) you cant put o-ring gaskets on there. But, if you take off the downpipe, you should be able to put some in there with locktite, let it sit for a couple hours and it should be fine. I have had mine on there for 3 weeks now without any problems90 Accord EX F22a1 Auto R.I.P.

ive had better luck with the Ultra Copper RTV silicon listed above... i use it 100% exclusively and never use or reuse normal gaskets...

someone should write a letter to Megan Racing and complain! Idk HOW many times i've seen threads w/ these stupid ass gaskets failing. To me DC sports did it right, I've taken my DC header out at least 10x to do work in that area and not once has it not sealed up right. Someone should write to them to ask for a better solution to this problem. Or have them redesign that flange.
