ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Winter tires are a must in my area, north east PA. While I lived in finland, they used studded tires. Thoes things are wicked! I wasnt able to drive due to insurance, so I rode my bike everywhere... yes sir, I even had studded tires for my bike :P

I'm not sure aout the legality. IMO, the US or atleast PA, should get rid of the god damn salt and just allow studded tires. If PENDOT spread as much sand every winter, sand plus studded tires = just as good as salt... BUT alas, people will be dumb asses, drive too fast, and die :P they do that with salt too though >:C

those two posts by MadSpleen and lokuputha are dead on, go SLOW drive CAREFULLY and do not overestimate your cars handling abilities, because on ice, it doesnt matter what you drive.

In winter, your tire pressure should be raised a bit, as the cold snap of winter decreases the ammount of air in your tires. If you have alloys as well, you may need to keep your eye on them, as old alloy's tend to leak.
Cement in the trunk of a fwd car? Where the hell did this come from? If anything you want weight on top of the wheels that have the drive axles in, therefor RWD gets weight in the back, and FWD well.. dont put shit, get some good tires, and you wll be fine. We get a foot of snow a week here, sometimes more during the begining of winter, and i got through just fine... ask ANYONE in winnipeg about our winters... -45 cold snap will kill anything, and will freeze your ass off in a minute. Start your car 10 minutes prior to going anywhere... Dont even shift it until it has been started for 10 minutes... you will destroy your motor in no time.
As for winter tires. DONT get Coninental(SP?) tires, Dont get goodyears (unless they have "brick" zone traction) Get WINTER only tires on some stealies.. they will save your summer tires from getting destroyed, and you'll be better in the long run, you wont get stuck as much, and you wont have to call CAA to get your ass out of the ditch. There are very few good winter tires, one main one i would HIGHLY recommend is the Michelin X-ICE series... KICKASS during winter man, but dont ever use them in summer.. If you have any questions about winter shit, just lemme know...
