ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    problem starting at cold.

When i turn on my car fires up and turns off instantly. But when I give it gas stays on but at low around 200 rpms idle. If i keep the gass pressed to increase it to 1000 rpms to warm up the car faster, it goes back to normal? Could it be my T-stat damaged?

your thermostat has nothin to do wit ur car startin. it might be a weak battery. when ur givin it gas its chargin the battery which makes it run normal. check the charge on ur battery or jus get a new 1

no no no ur batterie only starts car once car is running it runs off of alternator did u perhaps swap ur ecu by anychance running a ram air or equiv i live in canada it gets cold this time of year and the other morn my cb did the exact same thing stalled like 4 times just like urs check the tension on ur alt belt it dont take much for it 2 slip when it gets cold out also check spark plugs i asked about ecu cause i just put a pt6 ecu in my lx without swapping my i/m and cam yet and the ecu dumps more fuel at wot i think it may b the cause of my poor starting in the morn.

ECU is a P28 from an a SI civic obd1. I bought brand new spark plugs and still same prob maybe its that alternator tensioner. Yeah, also have a shortram air intake. Car runs normal once car warms up. But when its cold, the car wants to act live a peace of S4!T.

I have the same problem with mine. I always have to hold gas and warm in up before driving, otherwise it stalls out. Once the car is at normal temp, it idles and drives perfect.

I believe my problem is due to the fact that I no longer have an IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. I have an aftermarket Skunk 2 intake manifold and a BBK 70mm throttle body.

On OEM throttle bodies, coolant passes through a line and the IAC senses that it's cold and automatically adds more RPM to keep the car idling. Hence the stock F22 idling high when it's cold. Once it warms up the idle falls to normal.

My problem is, I dunno what to do to fix the problem. Do I have to somehow custom a stock IAC to my BBK throttle body?

              Anyone???

FITV usually monitors cold idle. IACV takes on after the motor is warmed up. Check your FITV and make sure its screwed all the way down.

Yah...actually that's what I meant. My aftermarket throttle body doesn't have a Fast Idle valve. So the car doesn't idle on it's own when it's cold. Does anyone know what I can do about this??? Winter is here, and it's really getting annoying sitting in the car holding the gas pedal for 5 minutes.

hmm sensors can get expensive c i run mostly stock in my many experiences i have found most problems lie in the little thing like that little crack in a hose thats positioned just so that u could never c it but as far as the car stallin like that the way mine did after puttin pt6 ecu and not 2 mention my car went over 200 kph for the first time the night before. i think its got something to do with fuel on mine it aint done it since and i aint drove it that hard niether so hope u can figure out ur prob.

screwing it all the way down essential disables it. partially, if not totally...

maybe the screen/gasket on the FITV is bad/dirty?

its obviously an idle issue, not an issue with the car running... something is not running to its full potential... might want to try removing both the IACV and FITV to clean their screens/gaskets.
