ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Transmission Swap Questions

Im going to be doing an auto-manual conversion soon (was planing on this weekend), and I have a few questions. First, Ill show you what I've got.

    Then I painted the trans.

So I'm piecing together the last few things i need before the swap. I bought ARP B-Series Flywheel and PP bolts, which work flawlessly, except the flywheel bolts are literally a few millimeters too long, so I ordered OEM ones, as well as a new clutch-case, and what I thought was going to be the chassis bracket. I followed a link to Majestic Honda from some thread and ordered the wrong bracket. So I guess I going to the dealership tomorow morning if theyre open to order one. What is the technical name of the part, or does anyone perhaps have a part number? Also, I have an arc welder rated to weld 1/8 inch steel. Dont know if that means anything, but does anyone know if its going to be capable of welding the bracket onto the chassis? I have to have an electrician come out tomorow to wire in a socket for it, so Im just wondering if im even going to be able to use it.

And what about the rear mount? Will I need to change it to swap, or can I run it for a little while? I've also read that theres a difference between the front mounts as well, but its not a big deal. Is this true? (I've been to the junkyard a million times for parts and I always forget to look)

One more thing. When I cut the hole in the firewall for the master cylinder, are there going to be two pieces of sheet metal to drill through? And will there be wires in between?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think you have to drill any holes, it's already there I believe.

The holes are already there and i hope you have an intermediate shaft!!!!

Also you could by the conversion trans mount so welding wouldnt be necessary.

Ive got an intermediate shaft. Tubing too, but Ive gotta get the correct fittings and reflare the ends.

I went to Honda today to get a chassis bracket, and they were absolutely NO help.

Anyone have a link to the conversion mount?

And So far, I've spent a little over 2G's. Im sure you could do the swap for a lot less, but certain things I just had to have new. Clutch Assem., Shiftknob, CVs, Starter, ClutchLines, Slave and Master Cylinder, etc.

Thats cool man. I just would rather get new stuff when and where I can. Trying to keep the cb going as long as possible, keeping it as nice as possible, while still getting a little extra in the performance department. Plus ACT Prolite Flywheel and Xtreme Pressure Plate are much better than OEM, as well as DSS CV axles.

                          check this thread out:

                          http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=8873

has the full list of every part and bolt that you need, and also has the information and part number for the bracket to weld in.

and for the rear mount, the EX and automatic ones stick up higher... makes less room to run the shifter cables... but still works fine (ive done it this way)

or if you have easy/cheap junkyard access to them, you can get the rear mount and bracket from a DX/LX 5spd

Thanks for the info. I finally made it to the dealership this morning before work and ordered the bracket. Got a new hat too. The parts should be in tuesday, so ill probably start the swap next weekend so long as I don't have to work.
