ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Ebay SS header

The header is a 4 to 2 to 1 design and includes the cat which are both stainless steel and is about $100 shipped. Have you guys had luck with the ebay stuff or is it a get what you pay for thing? This is my daily driver and I'm mainly looking to replace the exhaust and aftermarket seems to be alot cheaper and might make it a little more fun to drive.

FYI I am generally unfamiliar with the Honda aftermarket and I am used to paying alot more ($400) for a set of headers, so $50 +$50 shipping sounds too good to be true.

i got an ebay one for $78 shipped, it interferes w/ the a/c line (had to disconnect) and bangs into the crossmember.

    ...yeah.

go for a semi-name brand one, even Megan, OBX... usually go for more like ~150-180 shipped... theres many other name brands though that make headers that you can easily find around the net. you can search around here and see what people are running.

Quality is sacrificed thats all I am going to say. I have never seen a header with a cat sold together on ebay but then I have not looked recently.

For that price I'm guessing the cat is not a real cat, but a test pipe? Make sure it's what you need.

Also I agree with cp[mike] and Nail. You'll find a noticeable quality difference between low priced, unbranded (or "JDM") ebay exhaust components and the slightly higher priced ones.

Spend a little more and go with a Megan or OBX setup. They are surprisingly well made.

93twodoorLX has a cheapie ebay header, and it's done fine for him for quite a while now. Of course, I doubt he knows what brand it is... they aren't all the same!

OBX or Megan Racing would be the cheapest ones I would trust. Most cheaper aftermarket headers are no better than the F22A4 header. The only reason to get one of the aftermarket ones (when you can get the A4 header from a junkyard for like $50) would be for looks.

Yup. You must have a hyper-functioning AC system in your cb. I wish I did too.

I havent had any problems with my cheapie megan header. I got no complaints its doing its job fine, hasnt cracked etc. You may have to finesse it a bit into place around that a/c line and grind a little off the crossmember but otherwise its fine.

I have a cheap E-Bay header that I paid 110$ shipped... I Bought that cause my downpipe was broken and need something to replace. It's an SS cheapie header and now he is REALLY ugly :P sometime it turn like 'gold' but mine is like green and black :P
I had no problem with the instalation but didn't feel a big difference in power.
If i had to come back in time I would wait and get something better than a no-name header

Megan is a step up from the total cheapie brands though. They're actually a pretty decent company.

Megan if FTW on my list.

My cousin installed a set of Megan Full Coilover system for his 05' WRX. Man it performs like all of the leading brands (Tein , Apexi etc.)

                        A big for Megan.

I've heard that Megan's coilovers are made by the same people that do the Apex'i stuff... Can't say it's true, but it's possible.

I have had a Megan header on my car for about a year. No fitment problems nothing had to be cut finagled or anything just bolted right up

So I bought a no-name header back in 2004. as soon as it went on (fitment was okay, I guess) , my muffler seem to be vaibrating even still today with it being on my current cb7 that I reccently (approximately 2 months ago) installed a new cat-back system and high flow cat. So should I just go back with the ex 4a header? This was what I had in the first place but then the flex pipe was leaking when i bought the car so I replaced it with my no-name header.
