Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

Can i re-ring my motor without dropping the bottom end?

i wondered the same question one time. but i was like if i put the samepiston back in the same cylinder would i still need to re hone the cylinders?

a lot easier with the motor out of the car. simply because you're not on your back and with the motor on the engine stand, you can do a lot more such as cleaning your motor and honing will be a lot easier.The beginning of a new era............................
165 hp 149 ft. lb. torque sohc non vtec. then....
184 whp and 149 ft. lb. torque f20b stock now......

ok the reason you need to remove the motor would simply be that you cant properly hone an engine while its in the car and if you just rering the motor and it needs to be honed or decked then your just flushing money down the drain. Honing dosnt always fix the problem. If your motor needs to be honed then it also needs new valves and guides as well as springs and retainers. well i hope i didnt scare you away from fixing your car. keep your hopes up and fix it right the first time dont make your self fix it a second or third time.please help me find this factory navigation unit

you cant pull them out of the bottom, but why cant you just pull the head off, leave the crank in, and do two pistons at a time? thats how id do it

i honestly would suggest u taking the motor out to re-ring ur pistons because by doing so, u would probably find things wrong with ur motor that need fixing and will save u headaches in the long run... i personally just sent my motor off to the machine shop to get my motor HONED, balanced, cleaned, and crank polished...but this is for a turbo(a more extensive job)
But u can install new rings in ur motor while the motor is still in the car...its just its that a more thorough job will be done if the motor is out on the engine stand...and less back, neck, arms, and shoulder strain, because ur gonna be on the floor on ur back for a while(if doing it while motor is in engine)A wise man sees failure as progress...
