Replacing Rear Disc Brake Pads

Hello,

Can anyone please help me with replacing the rears disc brakes on my 93 Accord? Is it the same as replacing the front pads or is there something else involved? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. A friend told me that he thought it was a little different because he thought the emergency brake was tied in some how. Is that true or is he mistaken?

Shouldn't be. The only thing that might make it slightly difficult is the ABS system...but if you did the fronts, the rears should be easy.

the ebrake cables are connected to the backs of the calipers... but you dont do anything more than just pull them away from the rotor anyway, so that all stays connected.

also the ABS system is out of the way, its as direct as replacing the fronts.

dont you have to turn the caliper piston to get it back in rather than pushing on it?

Actually it is NOT the same. Instead of pushing the piston like you do in the front to fit the pads you have to turn them in a clockwise direction. I use need nose pliers and stick the 2 points inside and turn the piston. Other than this small difference, everythings the same. The rear brakes will adjust automatically just like the fronts.
