ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    voltage stabilizer

im aware that anything sold on E-BAY for a couple bucks has got gimmick written all over it but im intrigued by these little suckers. Voltage Stabilizers, i WIKI'ed it and pretty much there just capacitors lined up equalizing power. and only useful thing i found them to do was increase juice to the speakers.... although along with grounding wires they are said to pull torque and horsepower up 10-15, better gas mileage, smooth out idleing, etc....

i really just wanna know if anybodys got one and if anything noticable happened?
i see logic but no proof. if they worked this well then why arent BMW, and MERCEDES popping em under the hood?

i got a capasitor the diffrence i see is that no power drains and i guess it does give it a little power to the speakers, cause i got 10's and they sound banging

i been wondering about these too. my friend told me to get one as a cheap mod, but another friend thats quite knowledged in cars told me theyre a waste of money. gives little to no gains says he. so i decided to not get it...unless someone who actually has one says theyre really satisfied with it..

Its not a capacitor that he is talking about!

I dont think thats what he is talking about. He is talking aobut the voltage stabalizer that looks like an octopus and connects to your battery. that come in all color on ebay.

There is some merit to them.

They most likely aren't going to give a lot of power though.

The results will vary as well.

The worse the conditions of your grounds, the more likely you are to see a difference.

Of course, I have never seen anything that documents the difference between one of these, and actually just replacing the ground cables with new higher quality ones.

awhile one of the tunner magazine showed them and it gave them about 1-2 hp and torque. They are not going to do much but they usally look pretty sweet that is why i want to get one.

the more grounding you have, the better..... and i already know they dont pull 15-18hp. if anything they just help extend life to battery and electronics. im talking about voltage stabilizers which are individual units on there own and connect to the positive and negative ends of the battery. but anybody pulling weight out of anything other than there massive subs?

I know what voltage stabilizers are.

And like I said, I have seen dynos of voltage stabilizers, and I have see seperate dynos of replaced grounding cables.

Not dynos for both on the same car on the same day.

Since 1-2 HP is in the margin of error for most dynos, you might not be gaining anything with a voltage stabilizer vs grounding cables.

And theoretically yes, more grounding is better, until you get to the point where it isn't making a siginificant enough difference in the resistances to help anymore.

Honda was pretty smart about such things. IMO, you would get about the best results by replacing dirty corroded old grounds with new higher quality wire.

hahaha, i can agree w/ that! well then it sounds like a cool looking gimmick then.

you guys are all talking about 3 distinct things.

                              1. voltage stabilizer box, which ive never researched the internals, and probably are just capacitors

                              2. ground wire kit

                              3. stereo capacitor
