ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I don't like haynes. Go all out an get the chiltons! They pretty much go through everything. I got one for the accord and it saved alot of time on my swap. 1000+ pages of pure awsomenesstrositly.

chiltons is definately better, and the helms being better than that. i have all three, all of which are spectacular for a beginner...

just trying to get the word out there! i dont think people realize how wonderful a good repair manual is... tons of content, arranged by type, indexed with an easy lookup table, and its light and portable and you can bring it out to the car with you. its like having an experienced mechanic standing next to you that will explain how to do everything!

I agree. I have a haynes manual and I've definately got my moneys worth out of it. You can get it at any auto parts store too. Where could I find one of those other ones?

ive got a chilton's manual (like new) for sale for 10 shipped, whoever wants it PM me.... or you can find them on amazon for like $20.

helms are harder to find, you need to order them right from them, and they are pretty expensive, i think i paid $60 for a used one. its the OEM honda repair manual, but its printed/released by Helm, Inc.

                      You cheeky monkey...

Haynes is better than Chiltons simply because it focuses on ONE car. The Chilton's manual focuses on 4 seperate Accord models (2nd-5th generation) and 3 seperate Prelude models (2nd-4th generation). Finding the information you need in a Chilton's is a little tough, and I find that the diagrams and details I'm looking for are often for the wrong car. We share some things in common with the 5th gen, but 2nd and 3rd might as well be Subarus. If you know enough to use the general information, you don't really need the manual! I got the Chilton's because it covered my Accord chassis and my Prelude engine

                      Helms is always best.
In addition to a good book, a good set of tools will work wonders. Go outside and take something apart, dammit! Hell, I pulled my starter out one day just because I felt like it... never did it before. I learned. When I actually NEEDED to do it, I already knew how!
I book will guide you, but you'll never be good until you DO something. I know for a fact that people here would rather tell you how to fix something you screwed up by trying and making a mistake, than to hold your hand from the very beginning.

hell yea, im very hands on...i could look at a book all day and have an inkling on how its to be done but untill my hands are cut up and dirty as shit(really dirty since i havent cleaned my engine bay yet, 167k miles of pure Honda dirt!) from wrenching i dont learn anything.

And id have to agree withca deev, from what i see peeps on here never mind helping someone out when they are lost or fucked something up but when you want to be walked through something for the first time its kind of annoying not to mention hard to troubleshoot and shit over a forum.

First thing i bought when i got my cb was a Haynes manual, not only so i could mod but more importantly so i could troubleshoot and FIX if i was ever stranded or broke down.....well havent had that happen yet since its a Honda lol but its come in handy time after time when i needed to replace something or swap it with an aftermarket part.

Mines actually torn apart from using it so i need a new one...i wanna invest in a helms one..
