ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Filled Motor mounts

    I know someone here has done this before, they sent me a website to look for the urethane (www.mcmaster.com) I came up with the following part numbers: 8644K11 and 8644K18. which one should I use and how much should I buy? Will one pound be enough? Thanks.

    8644k24 = 60 hardness (1250 psi)
    8644k11 = 80 hardness (1725 psi)
    8644k18 = 94 hardness (3120 psi)

    i prefer 94, but its uncomfortable. if you want stiff mounts but less vibration, get the 80. wouldnt recommend the 60. 1 pound is enough for 5 mounts.

      most that i have seen go 80. unless my rear mount prematurely goes out or if i get to much wheel hop, i won't use either. i don't think i can handle the extra vibrations,lol. whats your set intent. daily, street, or drag.

                yeah the rear mount in the main one to even get done. when your car vibrates more that normal, check your mounts. both my front and rear mounts were completely gone. i couldn't understand why my motor vibrated like it did. when i dropped my subframe to do repairs i found out why then. the power of even a h22 auto is too much for auto mounts.

                  yeah...in the past 5 years that I have gone through 4 front mounts, 2 rear mounts and one of each side mounts...i am tired of changing them...i hope this does the job.

                    how do u use this stuff? is it like a putty or paste you work in the mount? do u just take out the mount and pour it in there? Do u have to use a new mount or will the old ones work fine? sorry for the excessive questions but i have a front mount ripping and this seems like a good solution.

                      use a new or old one dont matter pret is the same wash with castrol super clean then spray with rubbing alchol wipe clean tape one side with heavy duty duck tape making sure to seal the edges good and mix the mcmasters crap as directed and add to mount with a spreader ie.... a pop sicle stick smooth surface when filled... pretty easy.... like a 20 min it job per mount
