Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    holy shyt crazy tach (help)

    ok i was havin a friendly race with a buddy of mine and at 5500 when vtec is supposed to kick in my car started stuttering and the tach went on crazy mode i checked my grounds and the vtec signal wire and the pin outs on the ecu everything seems fine if you can think of anything please help

      no cel / all wires are hooked up/ its a chipped p28 untuned/ oil was just changed 1000 miles ago i dont know what it could be

        check your alternator? make sure its tight. i had a similar problem like this, and turned out my alt belt was loose.

          ok...untuned p28...What map is on it if you didnt chip it that could be why. I would check the igniter but if its that high of rpm since oyu say you were untuned what did you do.

            check your wires on the distributor one of those wires is a tach wire make sure they r not touchin or exposed and also check the distributor i had a prob similar to that

              i had a p06 chipped it threw codes so they(sleeperautosports)traded me a p28 chipped it came out of a turbo'd prelude there is no fuel cut off no knock no o2 i have had this in my car for like almost a year this is the first time it has every done this

                ok its running off of a turbo prelude and did they revert to a stock map. If your running that turbo prelude map your gonna fuck some stuff up or your car is gonna run like shit.

                  was the tach jumping around like crazy? or was it matching what the car was doing? if its just random, it sounds like it might be the ignitor in the distributor? thats where the tach signal comes from...

                    when my f22 did this it was the distributor....replaced the dizzy and have been fine since...it would do it everyonce in a while until it just totaly fcked up one day

                      thanks guys for all the input im gonna test the pieces in the dizzy and the ecu was remapped i believe and the rpm's would go past the 8k mark as soon as vtec engaged

                        Rpms would go past 8k mark? Stock fuel cut for the h22a is 7500 or 7800 YOur not making any power past 7200.

                            right as soon as i hit 5500 the needle would go past the 8k mark but the car would pop and stutter until i shift and get out of vtec mode and the ecu doesnt have the stock fuel cut on it anymore

                              this is my setup i have a h22a4 out of a type sh and a regular h22 trans chipped or remapped p28 and my own custom intermediate shaft to fit the block
