Wheel not coming off

This has to be the most newbie question.....but I'm just confused why it doesnt come off.

I have a 1990 Accord ex with the aluminum alloy wheels. Well I attepted to take off the front wheel but it wont come off. I jacked up the car high enough to easily pull out the wheel. I unbolted the 4 lugnuts and tryed pulling the wheel off but no go. I tryed pulling semi hard but it didnt come off. I didnt attempt to unbolt the center bolt. I assume that center bolt is related to the brakes. Does anyone know why it wont come off????

hah, i had some other member pm me about this same problem not too long ago.

if you have already removed all 4 nuts, then its just stuck on there. plain and simple.

kick the fuck out of it, do whatever you can to it so it will come off. try kicking it as hard as you can at the bottom of the wheel, then the top, sides..etc...

yea and make sure the wheel is completely off the ground, sometimes you dont see the inside of the tire touching the floor

This happened with my friends car. Solution was simple, kick the shit out of that wheel until it comes loose.

this also happened to ym friends car we kicked the shit out of it and it simply came off after a bit of kicking and swearing lol

i have never seen this problem before as i only loosen the lugs a bit while the car is on the ground and then i lift the car off the ground by a few inches, go to town on the tires getting the lugs completely off and then just lifting the tire straight off.

you guys did use a star formation to put the tire on in the first place right?

if the wheel hasnt been taken off for a while, it often gets stuck... like everybody before me said, kick it nice and hard. i remember making a thread exactly like this a while ago haha, im going to see if i can find it.

The problem usually is that usually the wheel will rust/corrode right to the hub.

I would definitely recommend taking some steel wool to the wheel and hub afterwards to clean everything up to prevent this from happening again in the future.

Yeah...I cleaned the wheels and hubs real good on mine, then put some grease on there.
Just be careful you don't knock the car off the stands.
Maybe try putting the car on the ground with the lugs a little loose, then rock the car.

My old car needed a good hit on the top of each wheel every time they came off, even if they were put on only two hours before

when you kick it, make sure you have a lug nut on their loosely so the tire doesn't go flying. another thing i do if i encounter this problem is getting a rubber mallet and hitting the backside of the rim with it

The wheels are hub centric, the wheel is aluminum, the hub is iron, they tend to bind if left on for a long time. Just kick the wheel alternating top to bottom and left to right and it should come off.
