ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    cramming the h22

First off id like to say i feel like a pussy for not figureing out how to stuff this bastard in my car when people are putting them in rex's, Im just having trouble finding the best way to lower the h22 into the car, it keeps hitting on mounts, the crankpulley, the tranny, ect. just need maybe a picture of the best way, Thanks!
    H22-T FTW!!!

The best way to do it is take off the crank pulley then lower the trans down first and pull it to the side as far as you can. Thats how I did it.

That's how most people do it.

If you have access to a lift, you can also remove all the lower supports and actually drop the car on top of the motor. That's the easiest way if you have the proper facilities.

the tranny mount bracket gets in the way, so do what customchord said ... tip the motor and lower the tranny in first, get it past the bracket, and pull it to the side and lower the driver side down. pulling the crank pulley off gives extra room for sure.

check out this post: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showpost...85&postcount=7 thats in this f22 removal sticky in the swaps section: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...&threadid=8849

it has some information about removing the engine. follow the same method in reverse to install...

ah yes. taking the crank pulley off. that brings back horrible memories...

do yourself a favor and buy the pulley tool. And if you cant find it in time (as in my case), use a chain wrench with an old peice of belt wrapped around the pully. you will probably need a friend for that.

Use the proper tools. Every job is easier when you have the right tools... and parts don't get broken.

An easier method than pulling the crank pulley is to not put the tranny mount on until you are just about ready to level the engine back out in the engine bay.

Just as you are about to level it out, work the mount over the studs and then hoist it into place. Put the through bolt in, the 3 nuts on and voila.

Took us about 15 minutes to have the engine in and bolted.

If you have an impact wrench and compressor that can handle the duty of removing the pulley bolt, that may be easier, but if removing by hand, the other method is much easier.

Dont touch the sides!! Woops butterfingers!!!

Yea tranny side in first is the best and a pry bar helps to get the mounts inplace and becareful not to break the tps off. The rear mount was probly the hardest part for us but once you get them in, its gravy!
