ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Depends what you're at, and what you've got in there.

3000 mile oil changes originated 50 years ago. Engines and oils have improved several orders of magnitudesince then...I wouldn't worry about going a few thousand miles over whatever mileage trigger you're using.

Depends on what you mean by "was supposed to". I doubt ~800 miles will do much at that mileage.

        Good filter? Synthetic oil?

Dont wait too long, it CAN cause damage, even though its not likely. I change any of my vehicles right on or before 3months/3k

Your engine is not going to explode. Make sure there is oil in there, and then take the silly 15 min to do it.

I know you are supposed to change every 3000 so they say now but under the hood on my 91 lx it recommends every 7500 so a few thousand over should be ok although I try for 3-4000. F22 with 291xxx

If you drive like a grandma yea do it like 7500 miles thats usually for people that dont pay attention and wait till that lil indicator turns red. Do it around 3000 and as mentioned doesnt take that long. Longest part is to drain basically.

ive gone 9000 over... while its not good and can cause extra wear, your engine will keep running... just change it soon

depends on the way you drive (grandma vs thinking your a race car driver), the oil thats in currently (synthetic tends to break down slower then conventional), and the oil filter (those with a larger capacity tend to last longer)

never a bad idea to change the oil. if your really worried about having gone over the recommended milage, maybe it would have been a better idea to use the time you took making this thread, and put it towards changing the oil. later

Check the condition of the oil. When I pulled out my dipstick awhile back and rubbed it against a tissue, it was a black coffee color with some sediments and small air bubbles in it. This was when I first bought the car, so I changed it. If you have a nice honey color with no dirt sediments then you can go alittle over.
