ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    What do I need for an external coil?

    I'm wanting to use one of these on my 90 Coupe.

    What all will I need? I know I will need one of the modified distributor caps to accept the coil's input, but how do I go about the wiring and such? And is there anything else I need?

      dont u have xternal coil already? well, just run your wires from old one to the new one, depending on where you put the new coil, u need to make it all reach, wires, plugs, etc......and get a bracket fro the new coil!!!

        take the cap and rotor off of ur distributor, youll find the ignition coil inside of it, its the goldish block with the post sticking up. the two wires that originally went to that need to be extended out of the dizzy casing, and attached to the two terminals on the oil. then you modify the cap to accept the MSD wire. (though, i dont see why you couldnt just use a 9293 external coil cap...)

          HELL NO ! some accords come with interal coil.

          One of the best upgrades you can make with a Honda/Acura Engine is to Bypass the weak Factory Internal Coil. The Cap And Coil Kit allow you to take advantage of an external Coil and ensure all of the new High Voltage reaches the Plugs .

          u have to put a power pole connector in the stock cap or buy a Vision Motorworks Honda And Acura Modified Distributor Cap for $35

          is there a DIY on this b/c i was reading Honda Tunning from like 3 yrs ago and it show step by step how to do this?????

          i'll make a DIY if u need cuz i'm gonna do it myself and i got the magazine still

            By the way, if your is internal coil, then by all mean, u just gotta do all the other stuff that they say, not what i mention!!!

              you can just buy a new cap that already has the external ignition coil terminal, and then extend the + and - coil wires as stated above.

              *not all accords had internal coils.

                is it or has it been modifyed ???
                it should have only the 4 spark plug wires comming out ??
                if it has 5 wires the u have external
                looks like all stock accords come with internal coil
                mines is a 92 lx and this 2002 lx in mag has the same thing

                ok i found the honda tunning magazine it got a kitted boosted sliver prelude on front feb. 2005

                it says don't expect any power gains . think of it as insurance . one mis fire at a high rpm can cost you your engine. also they have witness engines catch fire due to running a blaster or SCI-L ignition with internal coil.

                so u need to install a power tower at the end .
                drill a hole,put it in,make it stick w/ epoxy,let dry
                i'll make a DIY soon.

                  Folks --- you'll be surprised to learn that not everything about CB7s stayed the same during its 4-year run. There were differences.

                  9091 = internal coil
                  9293 = external coil
