ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

the brake booster is the large black cylinder thing on the firewall behind the brake fluid reservoir. the rubber line that leads up and across and to the back of the intake manifold is where it gets its vacuum to actually help with braking. theres a plastic check valve in the middle of the line in the bracket on the firewall.

when doing a seafoam job, disconnect the line on the left side of that valve, so you have a directly hose connection to the back of the intake manifold. get one of those small funnels that would fit into it, and go at it!

I came across this thread. Here, the guy says to use the the full can. He also states to 2 hoses leading up to the intake manifold. In our cars, that would be the brake booster and the pcv valve hose. So basically, use half through the BB line and half through the pcv line.

CP_Mike.........using the entire can ........could that be asking for trouble?

You would take out the pcv valve and let it suck the fluid into the manifold.

you want the seafoam to be sucked up into the intake manifold. with the engine running, it sucks like a vacuum... itll suck it in, itll get all over everyting inside of the intake and motor, and burn out the carbon deposits. dont put it into your valve cover. you can basically use any hose, as long as its a direct connection into the intake manifold. everybody suggests the brake booter line because its the biggest hose and you can fit a funnel in it easily. you dont need to do half in one hose, half in the other... because both hoses lead to the same place in the intake manifold.

as far as using the whole can, no it wont hurt it. i always use the whole can.

get someone to help you, you want to slowly pour the can into the funnel so that it burns as you pour. it should make the motor start to sputter and die down, so you want someone there pressing the gas pedal to help keep the engine revs up, around 3k-4k. once youre almost done with the can, use the last bit of it to dump all the way in. itll clog up the motor and itll choke it and make it stall (tell the person to let off the gas). you want to get it so the motor stalls out with unburnt seafoam still in it. let it sit for 5-10 mins to soak in, then start up the motor. be aware that itll take a while to start, but once it does, itll clear itself and blow all of the carbon out of the tail pipe

You should remove your o2 sensor before doing this right? Sounds like it could mess it up. I plan on taking time to remove the flex pipe onwards before doing this, so I don't mess up the o2 or my Random Tech hi-flo cat. converter.

its sensor safe, and i would think this can only help the o2 sensor by cleaning it off.

be prepared of tons of white smoke

also, put some in your gas tanks, cleans out your injectors.

yeah i did it thru the pcv hose to the intake manifold, alittle harder do to the diameter of the elbow joint hose at the top of the valve cover, but all in all it goes in with some careful eyeballing. it didnt smoke as much as i thought it would just a little bit. i have seen this been done before my friends are in aztegs (its a arizona integra forum) they all hang out on the weekends and i used to be with them, and saw first hand vehicles with lots of carbon buildup with huge clouds of white smoke out the rear. i happened to clean my IAC valve 2 days prior, cleaned alot of junk out of it. the only thing i didnt let happen was not let it choke the engine and shut off as the last procedure prior to letting it sit 5-10 minutes. but it did shoot some white smoke out, just not insane amounts. not to sure if it worked to its full potential.
