ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I need someone with welding experience

I need a mechanic to remove the exhaust. The nuts and bolts are rusted so they will have to be heated up and removed or cut with a torch. I have tried everything from saws, chisels, portable torches and nothing works. At this point I'm willing to pay someone to do it and get it over with. If anyon wants the job just pm your contact info or leave in this tread. I will call you ASAP. Thank you.

drop all the hangers and pull the exhaust out from under the car, and have at it with a hacksaw... cut the nuts (and studs) off and separate it with a sledgehammer, then hammer out the remainder of the studs (where applicable) and use regular bolts when reassembling...

dropping the exhaust gives you tons of room to do whatever you feel is necessary to separate it...

I tried sawing them. I just don't have the leverage being underneath the car. I brought one of those propane torches from Autozone and it won't get hot enough. I thought about renting a professional torch at Home Depot, but I would not know what to buy. Believe me I've tried everything and my only option is just to pay someone to do it.

thats why i suggested dropping all the hangers. drop the hangers and use a hacksaw and it will be much much much easier.

cpmike is right, pull it out so you will have better leverage. Here are some pics of my flex pipe and cat bolts... but I was able to remove it using torch, a long piece of pipe and ratchet to easily move those bolts after torching it...

VISE-GRIP makes a damaged nut/bolt extractor set I think they call Bolt-Grip Sockets, sold at any advance/auto zone. they are tapering spiral cut on the inside for all sizes and are square drive. These things have saved me on exhaust every time- it's crazy. Just find the smallest size that almost fits and hammer it on to the nut- then you can use a breaker bar in the drive or a wrench around the outside hex flats.. If they slip, they grip tighter. They pay for themselves every time I open the case. Hacksaws and cutoff wheels are your friend too, good luck.
