ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

OKay i know this is a 4th gen site but i need some help and knowledge. I drive a 94 accord ex with an f22b1. i just ordered an after market intake and a Spoon sport header. i read a forum on this site and it says that the header wont do anything for my hp increase. i need to kno why or why this is not true.

    #2
Headers usually merit around 5-10 hp..you're probably paying a lot of $$ for the fancy "Spoon" name.

Headers free the exhaust gases faster than the restrictive stock exhaust manifold...think how a rocket is propelled into the atmosphere...

You could've searched for this information. Cousin.

i agree. a header is a good bolt on upgrade but you will not notice the power gain by the seat of your pants. it is a minor power gain, only a few horse. i would have probably bought a dc header. i would imagine the spoon header if its not a knock off was more than double the price of the dc sports header.

        i only see one question?

anyway the spoon headers youll find on ebay are knockoffs, they are just random ebay headers with SPOON SPORTS tags tacked on them.

I was about to say when did they start making spoon header for a B1? So powerwise you aint gainin much. Your better off with some sort of Forced induction but the intake header should help the engine breath a lil easier.

              there is engeneering to consider...

              i cheap"y" header would not have the R&R a Spoon/Mugen/DC header would.

brands are brands but quality is everything

but they dont make adidas shoes in every single size of every style and color, nor does Spoon make a header for every single honda out there. its like when you try to find a pair of adidas in super-extra-wide... oops, time to look at new balance.

I agree, but with his question of asking why a reg header would or wouldn't make power i think FI is a lil out of the question lol.

I personally wouldn't waste the time on a reg header when it comes to bolt ons. If i was really trying to go n/a i'd actually spend the bread for a quality heard such as smsp or hytech and the like.

I thought i read somewhere on here ( prolly h-t ) that the b1 header made by dc is an exact copy of the oem header just ceramic coated or ss lol.

It will give power for sure. you are paying more for the name though. if you dont notice a power increase then you will notice better throttle responce, but usually a torque drop .... i have a cheap header, i like it very much though.

The sig name is new from a local forum. sorry to confuse anyone.

why do people think i am getting this of ebay and it is...cheap. it wasnt cheap and if i am paying for ''the name'' then i kno what i got.. it was catalog ordered. im really not trying to be an ass. and you were saying that the spoon header i got may not fit my honda and ccomparing it to a shoe thats to big..buy the fitting shoe... buy the fitting header....

I think what they're trying to say is that anything that is not with dyno proven gains of over 10-15whp is a pretty cheap header. Companies that make quality headers don't have prices in the 100-250 range like DC, Ebay headers, Knock offs and the like...( cheap header ), they have prices in the 600-1000+ range ( not cheap header ) Bisimoto, Hytech, Smsp etc.

I personally didn't know spoon gave a flyin fuck about f22's and whatnot so i didn't know they made headers for f-series. Anyway, if your buying a header that isn't really mass produced ( DC for example ) than it'll probably be cheap. Not in the cost terms but quality and proven gains side of things.

I dunno if that helped but that's my .02 on it.
