ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Help with some wiring ID

Hey all, I got a 93 Accord with some starting issues, and I think I've found a problem in some janky ass wiring coming out of the fuse box - question is wtf these wires are; they come out of the box and go right into a harness so tracing them back to anything is kinda tuff.

I have a pic but I don't see a way to attach it on this board?? If you look at a CB7 fusebox from the front of the car, it's the very most bottom-right 'plug' into the box, and there's three dinky little wires coming out, in my case the 'plug' looks pretty weathered and I can tell the wconnections are getting corroded. When the car doesn't want to start, as long as we don't flood it, if we fiddle with these wires it usually pops off with a little tweaking. Once the car is running it seems fine (tho the idle sometimes hunts around), but these three wires definitely seem to have something to do with the starting problem. If possible I'd like to know what these wires are for before I dig this connector out and re-engineer it.

Anyone? I'd post up a pic, but I don't see an option to upload..

You are really going to need to upload a picture.

You cannot upload pictures directly to the forum--

instead you need to use a 3rd party host such as www.flickr.com or www.photobucket.com or image shack etc.

Then copy and paste the share link here .....should start with

    Good luck!

Should I go kipe a new one from the pick-n-pull or clean up the connections?

Ok so I think we're gonna go hit the junkyard tomorrow and try to find an identical connector that's in better shape, and then splice it in. My question this time is: are there other Hondas that use the same connector aside from the CB7 Accords? Like is this (Electrical Load Detector?) something I might find in the fuse box of an earlier Civic or something?

Any help or suggestions mad appreciated, my life truly sucks without this car running..

I'm pretty sure the dimmer knob (to the right of the steering column) has the same style of connector.

that crud all over the existing one is actually "electrical grease" which is to protect the contacts from drying out and corroding. it isn't dirt. (just FYI)

There may be some sort of protectant on those wires, but there's no question in my mind that the wires are quite corroded. The car has a crappy fitting hood and has lived much, if not all of its life in a Cali beach town, so lots of salty air. Its also been through a couple gnarly rainstorms in the last couple years, not long after which the erratic starting nonsense started. Good info re: the protective grease, but I think swapping out this connector is worth the effort before I go after the ignition module, which is next on my list.

Dimmer knob eh? I'll look into that.. thanks.
