ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

For all the "ebay" exhaust systems, they tend to be alright (sans gasket issues, which supposedly can be address by using a subi gasket), its just the muffler at the end of the exhaust is craptastic. Find a nice oval muffler to replace it with, at the bare minimum a summit racing or jegs generic oval muffler is loads better then the "fart can".
do you happen to know whats a better place than being on ebay?

Get what you want from ebay, then take it to a muffler shop, and have them cut/torch off the "fart can", and replace it with a muffler of your choice. Just make sure you don't mix mild steel with stainless, as when the two are welded together, they will rust out super quick from as little moisture as there can be in the air, or the second it gets wet, from a process called galvanic corrosion.

Jegs or Summit racing tend to have good prices and a variety of mufflers/resonators to make your car sound great. Also keeping the catalytic converter and not using the test pipe, will help with the rasp too. Otherwise I would see about investing in a couple different length resonators, personally when I do my setup I'm going to have a high flow cat, two resonators 14" & 22", and an 18" oval muffler, all in stainless 2.5", to try and keep things deep and quiet.

Wait, is this the same exact thing you have in your car? Like the picture posted above. And have you happen to take a video of it without the silencer?

Meh 22 year old OEM header is more likely to crack. "eBay" generic headers are decent, they do use low grade stainless steel but the welds are decent. Only issues I had was the block bracket broke (not enough welding on it), flexpipe disintegrated after 1 winter, and the shiny finish goes to crap real fast. I repaired all the issues and painted the header with VHT header paint. Looks great and performs well.

if theres a gain you wont feel it. quality wise it may last and be fine. it may leak or crack. thats why its cheap. some factory in china just cranks em out with no quality control. its a gamble. thankfully its a cheap gamble. at least you wont hurt anything if it sucks.

I have the exact same issues with my Ebay exhaust, my mount cracked about a year ago(fixed), my flex pipe is about shot, and the "finish" is shot
Needless to say but you get what you pay for. But it's been worth it for the experience.

Here a short incar of my Ebay exhaust. I have changed a gasket on the header once which was my fault for not installing the lock washer.

Yea I know what you mean. But it's just curiosity of each part. And that's why I posted it on here because I wanted to know what your guys' opinion was before I plan on ordering anything off of eBay. I recent got a short ram off of eBay and it's doing its job for now. Only thing is they pipe measurements are a few inches off.

yeah but the parts can vary significantly,
and if you have a cheap short ram you should replace that filter with something good before it causes damage. aem, k&n, or apexi
